Whilst I think gardening all day on QVC is a bit much, this is actually a very good value TSV. Got mine. Plants 2 Gardens do excellent quality plants so I'm sure it won't be a disappointment.

dont like the planters and will propogating my own plants this year from seeds. need some shrubs but not from qvc far too expensive

I was only tempted once to try QVC plants, won't make the same mistake twice.
What I can't grow from seed I buy from mail order nurseries ( not the likes of overpriced Thompson & Morgan, Hayloft etc but specialist growers) or buy from my local plant nursery. Most garden centres are a rip off too.

Yes we have a really good nursery quite near and good value.

I had hoped we'd be RJ free for once as he wasn't there for the midnight launch, but a quick blast of Simon bellowing Biagi with his smirking sidekick dashed that not watched any more QVC since then today.

i cannot believe how overpriced qvc gardening supplies are. everything costs £30 plus. you would have to be wealthy to deck your garden out with plants from qvc and richard jacksons compost, plant food et all

I have found that the plug plants at QVC are not always very good, however, Plants 2 Gardens do garden ready stuff (hence the price and all suppliers charge more for garden ready) and you just plant them. No faffing around with windowsills and potting on. Just plant, water, feed and grow. Saying that, I have had lots of success with De Jager plugs and if things die QVC will refund your cash.

they are big and garden ready but not vfm as i can grow plants quite easily. if pushed i sometimes buy from thompson and morgan. i live in london and the garden centres are criminal for bedding and don't get me started on the shrubs. but qvc are selling quite basic stuff for huge marks ups. £30 for a tub of fertiliser sorry thats a big hype

I grow a lot myself and I agree QVC and the garden centres aren't cheap, however, I plan to move in late spring and I thought these would be a good "chuck in and brighten up the garden for viewers" with not too much work. We'll see how they go. One day I hope to grow everything from seed but it's time and space at the moment.

Aha, you've been to my house in the spring then after me ordering 150 very tiny plug plants which were then carefully placed on every available surface. Then the dog kept trying to eat them and knocked them over. You can imagine the mess. Mr CC is quite tolerant of my hobbies but it is the only time I have seen him doing this :mysmilie_51: I really will need a greenhouse when we move.

propgating is infectious. and enjoyable and very cheap

If you can get a greenhouse it makes a huge difference to the amount & the variety that you can grow. Only problem is whatever size you buy you'll soon wish you'd bought one three times as big!
I have two greenhouses & seven cold frames & still not enough room.

Don't under estimate the care tiny plants need. I now buy garden ready to save Mr CC's sanity and to stop the dog pooping plants.

If/when I move I shall come back to ask all of your expert advice on greenhouses et al.

been sowing seeds since small child. can germinate and grow on most poplar bedding. even buying the most expensive fi seeds still saves you money. my garden is a tiny town garden. but my daughter has just moved and has a huge shared garden. no one uses it but with the service charge it gets mowed and weeded ever so often. i will go mad with this its a dream to garden on such a large scale. outgrew mine decades ago lol
