She's on now and so full of herself. 30 seconds in and she's namedropped Fred Astaire, with whom she danced, and Princess Grace of Monaco. She then mentioned how she once went to the White House. Somehow I find her quite amusing. I am sure she is a really nice lady. Her hair looks like a walnut whip.

She reminds me of Jane Jetson.

being married to earnest bourgnine would have ensured her lifestyle. but my sister and i met her at one of the beauty bashes and she is soooooooooo lovely. kind attentive and very funny. not stuck up like some of the lesser mortals like fiona of decleor fame...not

Is Fiona really stuck up then Boffy?

I like Tova, the style of old Hollywood from a bygone era, she probably lives in a very different world to most of Q guests.

I know, I have never particularly liked her or her 'stories', I know she had a 'charmed' life and it was one of glamour and red carpet events (thanks to her late husband), I know she loved him and that was evident, but the fact is the jewellery and the stories all make me think of her as a 'bygone' era and not part of the real world that we live in today, which for most of us is a struggle and not the glamorous lifestyle that she lead.

I like Tova,I think she is genuine but I'm not a fan of Diamonique so she is just flogging cheap jewellery as far as I'm concerned.

I did like Tova in the begining, but when you have heard the same old bragging for years ... imo it grows a bit tiresome. I'm sure she is a lovely lady, but like most of the guests on qvc most of us have seen and heard it all before. I have a few pieces of Diamonique (which I like) but not looking to buy anymore.

I don't see Tova's stories as bragging. If your life means that you are constantly socialising with celebrities it's just your life. As Ernest Borgnine's wife her social circle would have been the stars of film and TV, particularly from Ernie's heyday it's not name-dropping to talk about them, any more than it is if she mentions going to events with her husband when he was alive. It seems unfair to criticise her for talking about her life as it actually is. It's not a life that's relatable for most of us, it's true... and it's not one we can realistically aspire to, but sometimes it's nice escapism to hear about Hollywood parties and the like.

I do think her look could be considerably softened if she abandoned the Elsa Lanchester hair. I know she must have more than a nodding acquaintance with cosmetic surgery, but hers seems well done and when you see pictures of her as a younger woman, she is still recognisably herself... even with such implausibly taut skin.

When I think about bragging and name-dropping, it's Julien MacDonald and James Read that immediately spring to mind for me.

If you thought Tova was/is bad (and she is), how much more so is Michelle Mone, I caught the first few minutes of her 6pm show and in that time she was 'self-boasting' about a new product or whatever is being launched at midnight (nothing to do with QVC, KP tried very professionally (well in the context of how professional QVC Presenters are), to try and sway it back, but nope 10 seconds later she was off.

8pm show, she was going on about how one of the rings she was 'flogging' was inspired by a Red Carpet event, please give me strength. She may have done well for herself and she may be an 'ordinary girl done good', but she still should not lose the sight of the fact that she along with other so-called entrepreneurs should remember we are all not 'cut from the same cloth'!
What's the betting she will be a 'dragon' before too long!

Michelle Moan is so far up her own arse she could polish her own veneers. She does love to modestly tell you that the whopper of Diamonbleek you see before you, she has in the real thing, she should remember that money can't buy you class. I'm first in the line to congratulate anyone that's done good, but not someone like her who likes to boast, thinking she's making people envious of her, that is so unattractive.

I wish someone would ask Tova about her plastic surgery. I'm quite sure that her tambourine-taut countenance owes more to the surgeon's knife than to her cactus juice or whatever that stuff is she touts. How else would a septuagenarian have such a face? It defies logic as well as gravity. In some ways she is in a similar bracket to Lulu. Tova touts her cubic zirconia pieces to ordinary women who hanker after that monochrome glamour of a bygone era. I think it's not a bad thing. My flat in Vilnius is done out in art-deco as the building was built in 1932 so I have everything in black, white, silver and bakelite. I even bought a kind of couch thing. I don't know how it translates into English, but "minsktasuolis" is the word. It is simply beautiful, like this:

Trouble is like all presenters/guest presenters no matter what really good quality tat they are trying to sell, they give the same stories time and time again. Lee with his 'I wish we had hours' for his 'fruity products', James Murden for his, 'if you don't know who Archos are, they are popular in Europe, but here's the thing, they don't sponsor premier football teams,,,,, so yes I just wish they could come up with new 'spiel'. I am aware that they have 'new viewers' every day but like every other company out there does, why should the alienate their core customer/viewer/'troller' (in the nicest possible way of course):mysmilie_50:

I like Tova very much indeed. I am of an age when I can appreciate her stories, which I do not see as bragging, furthermore, in her lifestyle to be honest, she's telling us things, but not from a bragging point of view, quite honestly she doesn't have to brag. She also wears the most exquisite clothes which I think are couture. She has individual style, composure and grace. Yes those of us who have been around since her first appearance have heard the stories, but newer viewers probably haven't, so I don't mind hearing them again. She and Ernie were highly regarded in the States and rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous, so naturally we don't know that world.

For me, she is a dying breed of celebrity, omg put her up against some (in my opinion) so called Celebs these days - they are trash in comparison, with no style or grace.

I dislike her hair, I thought she was lovely when she had the reddish colours.

Mone and Tova - chalk and cheese - or should that be trash and treasure.

I like to see Tova bringing her own diamonds in to compare against the eek designs and love looking at her older real stuff. I love the deco and pre eras of jewellry designs and can appreciate Tova keeping the interest in these beautiful old pieces alive.

And then there's Mone, bragging how she's "copied this piece" from the real version she owns. I'm frankly quite shocked she hasn't been done for copyright infringement.

They're both doing similar things, but Mone makes it feel like cheap and dirty knock-off fakery.

I don't see what Tova is doing as bragging; she's selling cheaper copies of her own jewellery with tales of bygone days of glamorous Hollywood. Is no different from the guy who sold imitations of Jackie Kennedy Onassis' and the Duchess of Windsor's pieces of jewellery with tales of how each lady acquired them, and when they famously wore them.

Buyers enjoy the glamour and romance they feel these ladies had and experienced, and I can understand women wanting to feel a part of that. It's an escape.

Baroness Mone looks like Miss Piggy but without the class and deportment. Good for her for making something out of nothing, but she's certainly a stranger to the old saying "Less is more".

Yeah, 'Mr Cheesy Virgin' is another one, yes he may have been a dyslesic but can't he wind his own neck in and go on live another island somewhere, oh he already does, appropriately enough it is called 'Necker Island'. No she needs to realistically go and live in America (for two reasons, one there is many many miles distance and two her 'delights' would fit in better there. But then I suppose she wouldn't be able to be a Tsar!
