We just had one open in out Town I was super excited when I went in but walked out with nothing.

If you have problem with sorbitol you are extremely limited...more or less everything filled has sorbitol in it.

I walked over to an independent chocolatier in the Town and got some gorgous chocolate that was sorbitol free.

I think my money will be safe

I'm not a fan either SharonK.
Not for any particular reason, other than I just don't like the texture. I find it 'claggy'.

I like chocolate that has a high amount of cocoa solids and less sugar,Thorntons was way too sweet for me.

We have one in Belfast plus they have just opened their own coffee shop. I used to hit them just after Easter and get an Easter Egg half price.:mysmilie_17: Most of their chocolate is dark which unfortunately gives me awful acid indigestion(I have to take stuff as I had bleeding ulcers), so not a fan.

Oh and they have a sign out side the coffee shop saying the best ice cream in the world or words to that effect. Never actually tried it.

I am surprised about the sorbitol. If using sugar, why also use sorbitol?

I have a friend who is a massive fan. I dread chocolate gifts from them, as I'm another who just doesn't like this brand: taste, texture, flavours...

I like Green & Black chocolate. Some of the Cadbury bars, and the supermarket brand goods. If you like dark chocolate with less sugar, Aldi Moser Roth do packets that look like a large bar but in fact contain several small bars. Excellent stuff!

I got a box sent to me by British Gas, as one of their rewards gifts. I rarely eat chocolate, but I did try these and don't rate the brand at all. I'd also never heard of them before.

Needless to say, I won't be buying any.

I used to be a member of their tasting club but grew bored with it and found I was wasting more of the chocolates than I was eating. They had some weird flavours and not all of them good in my opinion.
One of my sons once bought me one of their huge chocolate slabs which was ok and I love their choccy puddles and batons but only ever buy them when I`m near the Manchester branch which is rare these days.

Much as I love chocolate, my only experience of Hotel Chocolat was bad and I wouldn't buy anything from there again. I was given one of the big A5 sized slabs. Yuk, yuk, yuk. I didn't check the contents but I think I could tell without looking that the three main ingredients were soap, wax and plastic. No exaggeration, I hated it.

I don't mind their stuff, but never pay full price for it - they have a factory outlet store in Huntingdon, which is on my way home from visiting a friend who lives down that way.

Great idea ..I think Choccy tastes even better when you know you've got a good deal lol ..
I don't smoke or drink ( I know boring lol ) so choc is my vice I suppose ...I'm surprised there's not more posts tbh lol I've only got to hear the rattle of a chocolate packet in the shops and my head turns around :mysmilie_17:

Ones just opened in our Town I got excited when I saw all the new ones but they all had sorbitol as a stabiliser in them...unless I wanted something plain and boring. Took myself to a local chocolatier and had no problems finding things without sorbitol.

Total pain not being able to tolerate Sorbitol and quite a lot of people have the problem. HC staff didn't have a clue what was in their products when I went in.

I love the aldi caramel one it's in an orangey coloured packet and has five bars inside. If I get one I have to hide some of it from hubby, he is a chocolate monster but I could have a packet in the fridge for a month before opening it

They use it as a stabiliser in anything that has a centre. Every single one I picked up in the range they were promoting ( I think they were ice creams or summer puddings) had it in. If I wanted chocolate drop sort of things I was ok but nah...I'm out
