Has Julia got engaged?

'I find the ‘engagement’ phase a bit strange under the circumstances, a family celebration with the marriage ceremony being central is IMO all that is needed', I agree with you Silver Fox. Back in the 80s I had a fabulous colleague, she was an extremely kind, funny & attractive woman who had been widowed when young & then met her'chap' when she was in her fifties. They enjoyed life & always went shopping on Saturday morning followed by lunch. One weekend the shopping didn't happen because he'd arranged their wedding & celebration meal instead. It was May bank holiday & they went to Venice for the next two days. No fuss, just romantic & stylish - like them.

I loved the 80s! Really miss them now.

Me too, Julius. I'm older than you & it was my decade in every way. I only have to hear Duran Duran, Erasure or Spandau B & I'm back in shoulder pads & my 'Lady Di' hairstyle.

Love Duran Duran - I loved everything they ever did. Do you remember Olivia Newton John? She had a Lady Di hairdo in the music video for her song: "Physical" - which was hilarious!

Maybe the Eek expert had designed it for her in the real stones at trade prices?

Personally I marvel at the sharp eyes of people watching. I never scrutinise everything the female presenters are wearing for clues to upcoming TSVs. And I wouldn't then ask about it... it just fuels the presenters' "look at me" vanity, which is hard enough to stomach already.

Clearly this is what happened as confirmed by the Eeek specialist herself at the weekend. Judging by the design it couldn't have taken long to draw. Perhaps she spends too much time coining it in at QVC so cant spare the time for her 'designing', making use of her "25 years in the INDUSTRY" !!:puke:

I wish her well but she is awkward to watch when wittering on about herself etc
It’s not attractive to keep on and on about yourself .. knows her stuff I think but ... just feel like saying Julia tone it down .. your just a sales lady not a tv presenter who are always full of themselves
But I do wish her the best ... after her diagnosis .. I wouldn’t wish that worry on anybody

Yes, I know Julia has a health problem, but why did she feel the need to publicise it in the first place ? A lot of us have health issues - some life threatening, but did we make a big deal of it ? I doubt it. We're all anonymous on here, but I've lived with Lupus since the 90's, but I've never made a big deal about it. No cure, but its manageable with medication. Is it something I would share on a blog with millions who watch me on the tele, er, no - unless I wanted bucket loads of sympathy which clearly Julia has received.

Sorry to hear that Brissles ... ( page keeps jumping ... )
sometimes it can inspire people when they share but I understand where you are coming from
I guess we are all different and deal with things differently
