We are both 60 this year, have been married for 40 years & our younger daughter, whose birthday is on Tuesday, had her first baby in May so lunch for 4 + a bundle of love in a buggy. I live for the moment, enjoy simple & spontaneous get togethers & today was lovely. It's been an emotional week with a wedding followed by a confirmnation of a terminal condition. Rubbishing grotty fashions, over priced gadgets & sound bites is light relief, reading about the lives of others & feeling their kindness is a delight.

Really pleased that you had a lovely day. Congratulations from Mal Blissy

:mysmilie_508: You are absolutely right. My brother in law has fought a valiant battle & the effect it has had on my sister is horrendous, to see them at their younger son's wedding knowing that the next day would be spent with specialists was heartbreaking. We all feel so powerless & so very sad. In life we all have to stop rushing around & accept that every moment counts, be positive & always be kind.

You're right, I said to the husband only yesterday how scary it is that as you get older, the next day goes quicker than the last. The way it's going, soon I'll be going to bed before I get up. :mysmilie_17:

I don't think MW's fashion is worth the money, imo most of her fashion are shapeless
and rather thin material. I have never been tempted. She seem a nice enough Lady and knows how to sell... and dare I say charge.

Oooooh, big birthday ????

Yes I agree, the presenters clearly are told what to do by their paymasters, but their regular audience are not of an age where 'sports-luxe' is their preferred choice of outerwear. Its the same with the fashion pages in weekend supplements - all geared to a teen and twenty market place, yet I don't know of anyone under 30 who can actually read ? (sorry, that's unkind, meant to say 'who actually reads the papers).
You've echoed my thoughts exactly. The fashion features in the Sunday Express magazine frequently have skimpy bikinis and the like whilst I suspect most of the readers are like me the wrong side of 50 and would cause huge alarm if they wore any sort of bikini in public.
