Queen Julia had to mention whilst on with B & W, that she was 'getting married in August' - and going all girly coy; and would no doubt be wearing a B & W hair clip on the day. No creeping for freebies then Julia ! AND she's only asked Simon if he designs wedding dresses !!! he explained no longer and moved swiftly on to the earrings :mysmilie_17:

If that was my mother I'd be tempted to say 'oh grow up Mum' - particularly as her children are in their 20's if not 30's !

Cant wait for the pictures on her blog - cue all the Julia creepers telling her how wonderful she is.

I think it’s supposed to be in Mauritius so plenty of excuse to wear the old toe posts.

Hopefully her dress won’t be a meringue if it’s a tropical venue and being an older bride.

Sounded like she was deffo after something from him.......

Bet she’s after a bigger and better B&W wedding cake than model Ali had :mysmilie_46: :mysmilie_3:

I think she'll wear a frothy purple tulle dress encrusted with "shiroffski bibi bijoux" crystals and a tiara of diamonique will lovingly caress the Louis X1V rolling waves.

Her dancers calves and high arches will be supported by a pair of sturdy custom made vionic toe posts-made to withstand the heat of the Maritius sand.

Peony Flaars will supply a natural bouquet of frayed edged mixed calla lillies and cabbage leaves!

Wonderful :)

I`ve visited Mauritius 3 times and the hotel I stayed in do lots of weddings. They have a designated outside lawned area with a floral decorated arch and rows of seats. The brides walk down from the hotel and many hotels have bridal packages which include flowers, hair and makeup and a personnel organiser to help you complete necessary paperwork and organise everything for the day too.
They also had a roped off dining area for the wedding breakfast but there was no such thing as privacy. The ceremony was visible to anybody waking along the beach, the wedding breakfast was held in a roped off area of the beach but still visible to all and sundry. If you`re a bride and groom who don`t mind being ogled then it should be right up your street. I`ve a feeling JR will love all the attention.
We saw quite a few weddings on our visits, some included family and friends but some were just the bride and groom and I always think there`d be some quite sad Mums and Dads missing out on their son or daughter`s wedding day.

Queen Julia is supposed to be a “good friend” of SW, so how comes she didn’t know he doesn’t do wedding dresses, definitely out for a freebie although I think he’d probably give her one (a freebie that is) when she asks him directly for it off air, oh yes last thing QJ is is coy.

I think those are just conveyor belt weddings .... next please.

Shirofski ! WONDERFUL, Lol !

I dare you to tweet this thread to her Lemon, I'd love to see her face :mysmilie_19:

We are all going to be sickened by this wedding come August time, pass the bucket I think I'm going to vomit. She is a right Diva in her own mind.

I don't think there is any closeness with Simon Wilson, and to be honest, I doubt he will give her a freebie (he's a canny Scot) but I think he might loan her something, will be interesting if they are such good friends, if he's at the wedding of the year!

Dont forget "the crown" artfully pinned somewhere.:mysmilie_17:

She should go to Vegas to get married - the brides walking through the casinos all get a lot of attention. Maybe that would satisfy the diva in her.

She keeps making him Christmas presents (at least once a cloth ladybird) but he makes fun of them and won’t even take them home. He has given her stuff but then it’s nothing to him to lift something from stock.

Once I heard him offer her plastic surgery!! He was lucky he left with all his bits intact.

We got married in Mauritius many moons ago when we were in our thirties. We had the ceremony and photos in the garden area with further photos on the beach. It was in November so fairly quiet, and the hotel that we stayed at only did one wedding a day. My parents came with us. It suited us as we didn't want a religious ceremony or the expense, we had the wedding and honeymoon in one and then a family party when we came back. So i got the chance to wear my frock again. You did get looked at but probably no more than if you were stood outside a church. But I think it should be about marrying the person you want to be with, the cost of some weddings make your eyes water.

Back in 1979 I got married 'on the cheap'.

Got my dress - a salmon pink gypsy style from a catalogue. Bought buffet stuff and a couple of gateux from Tescos. Drove myself and my Dad in my clapped out mini to the registry office. A colleague from work was due to arrive to take photographs, but forgot. Had the reception at the cricket club for 20 where my Dad organised a game of cards for the blokes. New mother in law got drunk on sherry and took to her bed for 4 days afterwards. I gave a lift home to some guests and promptly got a puncture - so my wedding night was spent with new hubby and guests changing a wheel while I stood watching in my wilting finery. Was glad to collapse into bed - from exhaustion !!!

Where have the years gone. Hubby passed with a heart attack on New Years Day 2003 just before he was 55, and even his funeral wasn't without incident - but that's another story. He would have loved it.

So sorry for your husband's passing but your wedding sounded great.

Mine was 1984, Woolwich town hall on a rainy Monday morning. No one was invited but they came anyway lol. It didn't last needless to say!

Mine was 1971 and very normal for the time but would be considered unbelievably boring compared to modern weddings. I often say marriages now don’t even last as long as the loan taken out to pay for it.

A friend got married around the same time as myself only she wore bright red with espadrilles laced up her legs. As she was pregnant (shocking in those days) you can imagine the gossip it caused not only being “up the duff” but having the nerve to dress like a Jezebel!! Unfortunately it didn’t last very long.
