Homedics diffuser

I hope this will be a suitable xmas gift for my OH, instead of the iron or ironing board I was advised not to buy on other threads.

It was the best price I could find for THIS model, but there are lots of other variations. This one has the lights, sounds, and remote control, and is made of ceramic and real wood, so looks attractive even when not in use.

Do you think she'll like it, or should I get the ironing board?

PS it is a BIG DEAL so thanks to SCW for alerting me.

it looks quite nice I have the NEOM one which is much smaller but beautifully made. this look nice to and much larger. I use mine all the time as I am trying to use less candles that are tbh toxic. you could buy some Neom essential oils or any that you like its a great gift

You are so funny Strato. You were kidding about the ironing board, right?

I would have a look at the Neal's Yard diffuser. I believe they were the first to do this sort of thing, before 'well being ' was a trend, plus it's a British brand (AFAIK).

Neal's Yard are a super company & I don't believe that you could go wrong with pretty much all that they sell.
I 'm not sure if the NY diffuser sings, but it does dance (ie light), but that's not the point of a diffuser, (even if it does appeal to your gadget side). I don't have it myself, but I know that it will be quality & if someone bought me one, I'd be so impressed that a chap wen't for one from Neal's Yard as opposed to anything American (Homedics ?).

Just had a look. They range from £55 to £60, but the big one with the 5 star reviews is oos T the moment. Perhaps see if more are coming in? Should do for Xmas? Further, you can buy the £90! beauty box for £25 if you spend £40 at NY. She'll love you for that.

NY btw are Fabulous if something's not right. I emailed them about a hand cream I didn't like, no receipt, semi used, & they gave me a pre paid code & perhaps envelope to return & they gave me a gift voucher for full value. You can also return in shops, receipt= full refund I suspect.

Sorry for the essay, hope it may help. I do/have used the essential oils at NY & they are V V Good. They are the best Quality I've tried & I've used many throughout the different price brackets.

Note to add that the Neom one will be fine also & Boffy is right about their candles. For me though, I'd go for Neal's yard.

Good luck xxxx

Thanks for the advice SB, but I'd already ordered the Homedics.

Ordered it on Monday, came Thursday, so very good speed with full tracking. PP £3-95 was not bad for a fairly heavy, fragile ceramic item. And I bought 2, so 2nd PP was half price (but should have been free as they are strapped together and count as one item).

Just testing it now, overall I am very impressed. But the instructions were extremely sparse, and printed in the lightest of blue ink, almost impossible to read. And I can't operate the master switch on the base, it doesn't move or do anything, I will have to phone Homedics about this (if I can find a number).

I discovered that some of my bottles of essential oil had evaporated to nothing, even though tightly capped, very annoying. I know OH has a wide selection of them to choose from.

the issue I have with this particular diffuser is the wooden top. wood and water are not natural bedfellows imo...the Neom one is a ceramic embossed cover. 3 settings for the timer, a basic light that you can have off. John Lewis had it in the sale for £72 as they were doing a home promotion. it also comes with 2 years guarantee. I must admit I do like the homedics one and the price is keen
