The mail order companies - Sweet Feet, Jelly Egg etc DO accept returns - long as you keep the label on and don't wear them outside - if that helps?
So you can try another size (I sent a pair back to Sweet Feet with no probs whatsoever) - maybe try going up a size - I know you said they are wide on you but they are meant to be like that.
My normal shoe size (big feet!) is either a 6.5 or more usually a 7 - in Crocs I wear an 8!
Mary Jane's are also not quite as long as Caymen in length and a little narrower, if that might help?
I've just received today a pair of navy blue Mary Janes, which I wanted for my hols to wear with my jeans - though I wear them all with jeans as well as other holiday stuff.
