There is a long-running BBC4 radio series, Just A Minute, where panellists should speak for a minute on a given subject without repetition, deviation or hesitation. Some of the more experienced panellists with a good knowledge of the English language can accomplish a whole minute successfully.
I caught the first few minutes of the Ultrasun TSV programme just after midnight this morning. Abi Cleeve and Alison Young could take Just A Minute and extend it to Just An Hour! It was like choreographed persistent white noise: as Alison finished talking, so Abi started. When Abi paused for a breath, Alison started. It was the perfect relay - the baton wasn't dropped once. No hesitation, no repetition, no deviation!
I turned the volume down and put a death metal CD on at full volume and placed my head between the speakers just for some light relief.
