Oh, you mustn't worry about me, I'm 'ard! Anyway, I've come up with a solution to my problems and mentioned to my doc the other day. I said, "They shoot horses, don't they? Might that not be the way to go here?" She said that perhaps we will keep that as Plan B for the minute...Apparently, she rarely shoots her patients, especially ones who make her laugh, and I can do that just by telling her about my life...and then she really has a chortle when she reads my notes...Some people! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Joolz, Funnily enough, I have allergic asthma which is really bad at the moment. I've had it since I was 18 months old so am used to the fluctuations. I also have dreadful hayfever like you. I wonder whether this sort of caper means we have extra problems with our skin? What a palaver! My skin was looking better once I left out all the products, but just last night, I felt the telltale bumps and thought, oh no, here we go again. Sure enough, I've got a few hard and painful spots today. I never had them as a teen and didn't think I'd spend my forties with a mixture of spots and wrinkles!
I think stress is sending my skin haywire right now. Had a call from the hospital last night about my brother asking me to go along there due to a 'change'. They've had to give a further unit of blood to stabilise him and he's now sedated. Crikey, my nerves are shattered! Thanks for asking, much appreciated. xxxxxxxxxxx
Aww, thanks Joolz. That's really kind of you.
What with all that and the ruddy facial spots, too, what are we like?
    Lots of love, Yolanda xxxxxxxxxxxx
hi Joolz, Sorry to be so tardy in replying to you, but it's been the usual mayhem and drama this end. My brother, who is schizophrenic, has had a massive heart attack and is terribly ill in hospital. He is fragile anyway following the burns he sustained in a horrendous fire last year. So it's been hectic to say the least. I'm okayish, just a nervous wreck lol.
Hope you are alright hon and that things are okay your end. Lots of love, Yolanda xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I'm just writing your cheque as we speak!
Aww, Joolz, that's such a kind and lovely thing to say and it makes a hell of a lot of difference to someone having really bad confidence issues at the moment. The chemo and stuff makes you look a lot worse than you feel and I think sometimes that can be the worst thing about it.
    Thank you so much.
    Lots of love, Yolanda xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Hi Joolz,
Well, you asked for it, petal, so there I am in the old avatar before the chemo and pox got to me and turned me into the resident quasimodo of the forum lol
Hope you're okay hon and that things are going well for you.
Take care. Lots of love, Yolanda xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    hi there Joolz,
'Red, lumpy and blotchy' Oh yes, I can certainly relate to that, such a good look....Yikes!
Thanks for the heads-up re the Decleor Harmonie cream and mask, I think I may try those as my next port of call. Also interested in the Mir argan oil that Donna and Vampyre recommended, that sounds quite gentle too. I've been a bit worried about trying things for sensitive skin since the Elemis Sensitive cleanser caused such problems for me, but I think I just have to realise that Elemis is not good for my particular skin. I can't use the LE moisturisers, something in them makes me react, so that's a no-no. Crikey, what are we like? lol
thanks for the good thoughts re the chemo and ongoing treatment, I appreciate it. Feel a bit grotty but that's only normal at this stage and will pass quite soon hopefully. Radiotherapy is on the cards, but we're playing it by ear at the moment and seeing what happens over the next couple of months.
Take care. Lots of love, Yolanda xxxxxxxxx
    Hi Joolz,
Thanks for your kind comment on the Jade thread, much appreciated petal.
Typical of me, instead of asking the nurse about side-effects and things yesterday, I was wittering on about my face and how my skin had broken out and did she think I resembled a pizza....I somehow felt that you would understand. lol
    Lots of love, Yolanda xxxxxxxxxxxx

    Happy New Year xx

    Hiya Joolz

Oh gawd, how awful for you. Not a great way to start your Christmas holidays! Hope you managed to get it all sorted out.

I picked up some computer virus (despite us having shedloads of anti-virus and security!) just before Christmas and my OH ended up having to wipe the hard disk and reload all my programs!

Anyway, here's hoping the New Year starts well for you and continues to bring you all good things this year. Love Margot xx
Hi Cupcake, thanks for your message, so sorry you had a bad end to the year, hope it did not spoil your festivities too much. Hope 2009 is a good one for you and yours...........Trisha xxx
Hi Cupcake, hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year...... Love Trisha xxx
