Empress, China made, watches, nobody else will have them, were to launch at Baselword (christ every watch on IW was going to Baselworld:ROFLMAO:), yeah right, that's why Empress themselves have been selling since 2018 on Amazon UK. Of course doubt they sell many, they are charging their inflated price on Amazon.

One review on Amazon from last year, which I would imagine would be typical for this brand, the watch was supposed to have a 100 mtr water resistence.

"Not waterproof! These are cheap, throwaway watches. Do not buy. - Empress refused to fix/refund the watch after only 2 months wear. Water will leak into the mechanism from day-to-day use and Empress will charge you $100 to fix it because they claim you are not covered by warranty. Avoid these scammers."

And they are not a Heritor brand, they are a Resultco brand, Heritor and Empress are 2 of 19 Resultco brands that all trace back to a Michigan address.
Oh and we're back to trying to say they look like luxury Swiss watches without naming the brand.

WRT the 'Baselword' the presenters/guests keep referring to, rather than the Swiss watch convention, could it be the souvenir shop of a theme park somewhere off the A1 which is dedicated to Basel Brush?

(Yes, I know it's Basil, but go along with me.)

Peter Simon would probably spell it Basil anyway, he's never good with getting names right. ;):ROFLMAO:

That's probably the closet these watches will get to Switzerland, even on their journey from China, if by air, flights from China to the UK go over Russia, Sweden to here.:ROFLMAO:

Well looks like a Vostok show tonight, although no Peter Simon, surely recovering from a bout of verbal diarrhea, given the amount of :poop: he's spouted lately, he needs a deserved rest, so probably won't be so over the top show. But it does look like the line up of watches is the same as the last time Vostok was on, when we were told, last chance to get as no more shows with Kevin for a while (while is a week in IW land), and must buy will never see again, and they're flying out the door, allocating, more folks on the web than we have stock, technically sold out, etc etc.

They must have been able to divert some more watches/stock from going to Baselworld, probably took the combined efforts of the boss Jamie Martin, Maria (Head watch buyer), Igor (VE), the head of Sturmanskie, the head of Chrono AG, the show producer, Sean the camerman, Sally the tea lady, Dennice on the phones, Bev & Simon the studio cleaners, Shaun and his Mam in the warehouse, with Paul Breguet providing the motivation, a really herculean effort by all. ;)

I bet that was dig by Reynolds there, he was speaking of Mathey-Tissot, Aviator and Vostok Europe "these are real brands that display at the Basel fair". Pretty sure that was to make sure that viewers realise that these three brands are actually watchmaking brands and would have been at Baselworld and unlike the other brands, who get their watches made in China, that have been on IW lately all claiming to be going to Baselworld. ;):)

Hi, new here, been looking for somewhere to vent my spleen 😁
I mainly watch the err, watch progs purely for entertainment purposes and to shout at the screen when they tell porkies. Especially the "experts"
I collect watches, only auto's, but I do have a "Mecha-quartz" which I've had for 5 years, a movement that Kevin R had never heard of:rolleyes:
Anyway, thanks for the add and a place for a laugh

Hi ronzy75 and welcome.

I collect watches too, far too many, it’s an addiction and just can’t help myself. Just ordered a new one the other day, Sturmanskie Chronograph "Ocean" Special Edition 3133-1981599, which Ideal World are selling for a reduced price of £1199.99 (normal price £1299.99), I’ve order mine from P.Maier GmbH, Germany, and was only £703 including delivery.

That’s exactly how I started with IW, the watch shows and then progressed to other shows as they are so darn funny, and at times stress relieving especially after a good rant at the TV.

Kevin R is actually one of the better ones for watches, definitely not an expert on all watches, but does know more than the others (which is quite easy), and he does give a bit more technical detail about the watches he sells than the others. He’s just a dealer, with his own company, THE WATCHBASE (UK) LTD.

Some of the “Experts” on Ideal world are actors (Peter Vollebregt so called expert on Phones, tablets, ceramic heating, vacuums, luxury furniture etc, is ex Eastenders, The Royals, River city and so on) or sales people who work for companies that source products for IW and other shopping channels etc, that group are not directly employed by the product company, and you get the odd few that actually work for or own the company of the product featured. The latter tend to be boring to watch as they just like company sales folk, the former are hilarious as they spout nothing but crap & Lies and are so desperate to over promote cheap tat as some luxurious item. :ROFLMAO:

I didn’t see the segment you mention in your post, but Kevin R has mentioned the “new” movement a few times recently, although he never called it by it's right name "Mecha-quartz", he always called it “hybrid” movement, latest thing from Japan. As you say it’s not new, I’d owned a Parnis Daytona Homage (Seiko VK63) for over a year before he was claiming it was so new, you won’t have heard of it, as only Seiko and now Vostok were using it, couldn’t stop laughing when I heard him. :ROFLMAO:

GX pillows, were do you sell them, only on our web site or Ideal World, we took the decision not to sell to anybody else in the UK. Yeah, I bet you were saying the same when you were selling them on QVC couple of years ago and of course you're selling your pillows through Amazon right now.

Thanks for that, know what you mean about the "experts" I looked at the Okean on the German site and was nearly tempted. I've had several "real" Vostoks from Christopol, with wobbly crowns et al:D Currently into Steinhart, but that's another forum.
Peter Simon, how on earth is he employed to do watch shows? Hilarious by his ineptitude, all those Handbuilt watches:rolleyes:

Doesn't say on their web site about a discount, but I got an email (maybe with being existing customer) from them a couple of days ago with a 20% discount code for VE & Sturmanskie, that was all the temptation I needed.:)
Have a few true Vostoks as well, fun watches, and like Steinhart, have the Ocean 2 Premium, black dial, but as you say that's for another forum.

As for Peter Simon, I don't get it, if i was a watch brand owner i would be embarrassed to have these clowns selling my watches. Maybe there as so many gullible viewers, who know very little about watches, who are actually falling for all his rubbish. If you read some of the reviews on their site, plain to see that there are viewers falling for it, hook, line and sinker. Although he's in a class of his own, the rest of the presenters are pretty poor, but funny, on the watch shows as well. Don't think any of the staff at Ideal World is knowledgeable about watches, IMO their watch buyer believes all the baloney she is fed by whomever is trying to promote the watch brands to them, and the presenters follow suit, repeat the same rubbish and add their own patter to that rubbish, and we end up with these hilarious shows.:ROFLMAO:

I was just wondering if anyone here has taken the plunge and treated themselves or their loved ones to any of the luxury watches being sold on IW?

I Know that the cost of insurance has to factored in when buying any of these masterpieces of horology so I'm guessing - unless you have some special arrangement with whomever specialist insurer you deal with - this can be off-putting for some. That said I'm sure everyone will agree for the need to protect your investments from theft, loss etc.

A little known concern should be the need to amend your will to account for the fact that you have these timepieces in your possession. After all, you don't want your loved ones fighting over who should inherit your watch(es) do you?

Well first watch and first load of crap spouted.

Peter showing off the movement in the first watch and asks the <cough> expert to explain the automatic movements.

“What you might expect from a German, eh, watch manufacturer is precision and high grade quality engineering, and this is exactly what we have here.”

Yeah right, German precision engineering via China, it's a Chinese TY2555 movement, and just for good measure non of the movements in CW watches are made in Germany, they are a mostly Chinese, and the odd Swiss and Japanese.

Apart from the odd special, with non Chinese movements, I'm beginning to really doubt the Made in Germany printed on the dial on those watches with Chinese movements.

You have to laugh at the way they compare these things with Omega et al.:ROFLMAO:

That's the first one (Constantin Weisz) checked off, watches diverted from Baselworld.

Just looking at some of the newer watches, seem to have a similar look to Delorean now, big and gaudy, considering they use similar movements, probably get them from the same Chinese supplier/factory.

Imagine what these luxury/heritage/ masterpieces of horology would look like if IW were broadcasting in HD?!

Imagine in 4K. :eek::D

Now, after flogging Dormeo hybrid as the best mattress you can buy and the GX suspension pillows as a must have for the past week, now we have Emma Mattress & pillows, as Hayley say the best there is, she truly believes that, in fact 7 times in the first 5 minutes she's said she truly believe. Yet she truly believed Dormeo was the best to buy. :ROFLMAO:
