    QVC Black Friday deals

The boss of THE RANGE (who is based in Plymouth) is reopening 3 or 4 branches at the beginning of December, including Plymouth, then about 30 or 40 more around the UK (he bought the brand name and some of the Wilco products). He will be re-employing some of the staff.

    QVC Black Friday deals

I bought this recently, for a specific purpose, 1/2 price. The "always on low" at night and then getting bright with motion is exactly what I need, never seen this feature before. Acually the previous demo by a woman was much better, demonstrating how you can move the light and solar panel to...

    QVC Black Friday deals

When they said you could hang up heavy items from hooks on walls, or from rafters, I thought that was a good idea. Then I realised I don't have any rafters or spare walls to fix hooks onto.

    QVC Black Friday deals

They have some good buys, but when you look at the items there is nothing to tell you it IS a Black Friday price. I see that the wrap-it straps are now less that half-price and unfortunately I was sucked into the hype and bought 2 sets at full price, thinking they would be very useful. So far...

I have my induction hob on top of a glass chopping board on top of my 4-ring gas hob, as I've not needed it since I bought the induction hob. I will be going into Lidl today (if not raining) so will look at their air fryers while I'm there.

The double drawer ones take a lot of space (I have the Ninja) but I now wish I'd bought a smaller single drawer. But make sure it has all the functions you need eg air fry, bake, roast etc and possibly dehydrate.

I don't think I've ever used my 2 drawers at the same time. But I have put the food into one drawer and accidentally turned on the other one, then when the timer sounds and it turns off after 20 minutes or so I am faced with a cold pasty etc :(

    The QVC cruise

Has anyone been watching the TV series "The good ship murder"? It seems an excellent idea for a detective series, being set on a cruise ship. They are all stand-alone episodes, with a murder each week, but not gruesome. It reminds me of "Death in Paradise" in this respect. The murders happen...

Christmas shopping in the 1980's v today

Today I made a special trip by bus to a town 10 miles away to get 4 replacement yogurt pots (I make and eat 1 litre per day) as the other pots are disintegrating. It took me 1 1/2 hours to get to the shop (traffic jams) and as I was in a rush I left one of the four behind! And I got soaked...

    Random musings and general banter.

Why do you think they spend so long on 1 item? eg PS going on about curtains for ages, only 2 colours and 1 size so he had no choice other than to repeat the same things over and over. There isn't much you can say about curtains. Why not have 4 items an hour for example?

Christmas shopping in the 1980's v today

I bought a tape recorder for myself for Christmas in 1959 on hire purchase, and had to work for a year delivering groceries after school and on Saturdays, earning 75P a week (15/-) to pay back the instalments. But I got loads of pleasure from it, and also family and friends, as well as...
