    Resale tips?

I read an article in Financial Mail a couple of years ago that stated the only way to guarantee making money from selling jewellery was to inherit it, so you haven't actually paid anything for it in the first place! Auctions seem to expect to sell for about a third of the cost of new and in all...

More bits on show! Go on you know you wanna look!

I've been trying to quash the feeling that I might like to buy some jewellery again and up to now it's worked, but I love, love, love that citrine ring and I'm peeved I didn't watch any of the clearance now :hump: The crossover rings are a gorgeous design and very tempting, but I can understand...

    Shimoyo Rubellite Box

As I managed to snaffle a 'normal' 3.5ct Rubellite ring a while back that I love, I haven't been tempted to go for the Shimoyo - as well as too mean to pay those prices - and now I know the boxes are OTT too I'm even more glad! Having said that, nothing beats the marble/stone boxes that...

Ped egg what a waste of money!!!!

Merryone I bought my ped egg (brand new) on ebay for about 99p and it's exactly the same as yours! I thought it might have been a cheap copy and put it down to experience, but if they're the same from a reputable source, I'm glad I didn't pay full price! The only thing I find of any real use is...

    Enough is Enough

Me too! But I have been boycotting QVC for yonks now 'cos of Butcher Basso (not even reading most threads, but any started by our Burlz are worth a look ;) ) and trying to use the stash I had built up from years of TSVs. I am still using stuff bought ages ago, but some skincare has actually...

    Spot the Difference!!

I saw that last night too and thought of this thread, but I was too tired to post. I thought some of the the prices for the short time I watched around that time were very reasonable too, shame they were not the gems or styles I like enough to buy though................. :hump:

    A good moan!

As most of you know, my gripe with this and other channels is that they are not on cable and so I have to watch on the web, which if truth be told is even more irritating than having to stay tuned to a TV channel playing in the background. What seems like a hundred years ago, I posted how I...

    Confessions of a Rubellite Fan!!!

Good! Now I can call off the men in white coats! Admittedly some of the Shimoyo stuff is lovely, but it's even nicer knowing you have something just as good at a fraction of the price ;).

    Confessions of a Rubellite Fan!!!

I often find pendants are more stable on an omega 'chain' but if the rear setting is just too narrow to support the wider gem - as is often the case with pendants I see being shown on TV a design fault IMO- it may still fall to one side or the other so maybe widening the back with gold inserts...

    Shimoyo Rubellite - thoughts?

Only 100 pieces of the Danburite :gasp:? I'm guessing there won't be any BOGOFs then? I've already decided I can't possibly afford it just to save myself any disappointment later ;) On the other hand, I think I like the look of the Cinnamon Zircon even more ........... :happydance:

    Should I or shouldn't I....Rubellite

I've liked it enough to have it in my basket in the past ;) and although it looks very dark for Rubellite, I like the colour for it's own sake whatever they call it. I do fear that as it's been on the web for so long though, that it may be a serial returner and possibly not the colour it looks...

    Confessions of a Rubellite Fan!!!

If you send that back Meesh, I'm going to report you to the RSPCJ........... What do you mean there isn't one? Well there damn well should be! :hump: You can't seriously be considering separating them, can you? You'll regret it forever if you do. :gasp: Gorgeous, gorgeous pendant. wear it in...

    Shimoyo Rubellite - thoughts?

Thanks Gavin, always good to read your posts (I well remember you from an appearance yonks ago on Ideal World representing Thai Gems and applauded your putting the presenter in their place and telling them a ring could only be sized so far ;) ) and we'll have to agree to disagree about any pink...

it was a matter of time: "designer" water on QVC

    Shimoyo Rubellite - thoughts?

Damn and blast! I take so ruddy long to write a post! I didn't know it was going to be on again, I could have had it on in the background as I'm on the laptop anyway (Rocks and co aren't on my cable tellybox  ) They're trying to flog a ginormous Tanzy now, 15+ carats including the...

    Disappointing Morganite

I've lost count of the number of Morganite pieces I've sent back and almost gave up 'til I finally got a pendant that was a fabulous colour. Wasn't best pleased to see it go cheaper later and then a LOT cheaper later still, but consoled myself with the fact that as consistency is not Gemstv's...

    Tanzanite Rip Off Prices

Couldn't comment before as I hadn't seen any of the 'new' shows, but I watched today and Crikey! the prices were eye-watering weren't they? There were some gorgeous stones and one square/cushion W/G ring with just one diamond either side I would have loved - soz didn't catch the number as...

    Shimoyo Rubellite - thoughts?

Well I watched most of the 6pm show on the laptop while cooking dinner (and had Gemstv on the telly to gawp at the Tanzanite) and couldn't believe the prices!!!! Whilst I didn't hate the design of pendant although a tad too large even for my taste - the stone was dead IMO :gasp: I did like...

    Shimoyo Rubellite - thoughts?

Bugga missed the launch, but by all accounts I'm not missing much! Will try and keep focused to catch the 6pm show though. I'm not out to buy as I'm delighted with the 3.5ct Rubellite ring I got from rocks a while ago, but I do like looking at pretty shiny things!

    Wow what a Price difference!

This is the very reason I am so cross that all the jewellery channels launch on Sky and never on Cable :tantrum: The opening bargains are usually spectacular and by the time - if ever - they come to cable the prices have been hiked up and 'the good ole days' of bargains galore are well and...
