Now - I'm a PT virgin, but what I can tell you about this ring is that it does have a window, but this may not be/is just visible to the naked eye (given the telly magnification). It ain't the world's best colour. I'd describe it as a good aquamarine blue but not neon, the colour is strong enough to stand up well against all the white gold. Bearing in mind that this purchase will involve some sacrifice, what d'ya reckon, am I missing something? xxxxx

Arge - can I be honest hun?

I saw it on air. It was paler than pale and calling it a PT was stretching the imagination somewhat. HOWEVER, for the price, considering the diamonds, gold weight, etc, it's ok. There were some other pieces that were better though. The pendant at the top of the hour (pear shaped green stone) set into a sort of upside down tear shape with legs with diamonds on (sorry pants description) that was under £100. Then there was another green shaped pear with diamond shoulders, more expensive at £249 but much bigger carat weight, diamond weight, gold weight etc.

Both were in my basket and dumped (I reigned myself in because I REALLY don't need anymore PT), so they will be available. If I'd known you were looking I'd have dropped you a PM. Sorry hun.

I'm so glad you said that Meesh. I really shouldn't be buying any more and hadn't even intended watching this but Lynn is one of the few I can watch. If it had still been Adina (filthy 'orrible acrylics?) I'd have been gone, and none the wiser. Interesting you say about the green as I happen to prefer that, except for the really, really outrageously lairy neon Hawaiian sea blue PT. I think with this, I like the design a lot and it's so good and chunky, with over 6g of 18k, that I got carried away wiv meself. If I'd really, really wanted it I wouldn't have been asking would I?

I bought two silvers rings for almost £150 and £100 a couple of months ago, and normally wouldn't dream of paying that for silver. Although I was deeply shocked by the price I was paying (though I think fair for the design and labour involved) I just had to have them and I've not regretted it.

http://www.gemstv.co.uk/Shop/productDataSheet.jsp?productid=UAV4757&menuselection=3&colourScheme=1 (yes, you did read the size right)
As usual, hopeless images, and they each have wonderful profiles which are the main feature of each ring. The RdeF is "cradled" in rubies on black rhodium. The topaz has a little butterfly on one edge and a tiny flower on the other, with the whole ring built up extremely high by the myriad little topaz stones. Outrageous both of them and totally gorgeous. PT is a gonna - lol.

Thanks for your guidance, much appreciated as ever. xxxxxxxxxxx

OK folks... Which of these should I keep?

I'm thinking probably NOT the pink diamond, as I already have a natural pink diamond ring from when Gems first had them, and £249 not a small sum. But all advice gratefully received!

Well ............... I've just dumped the pink diamond ring because whilst it was nice I'm not good with that design and prefer symmetry. Not a reason to dump though but for me it was. It's a great diamond weight for the price.

I also have the blue/white diamonds earrings and have just checked them out. They'll be going back if the white diamonds aren't white!!!

The other two are cheap enough so probably keepers?

Here's my haulage (should be arriving on Tuesday):

http://www.gemstv.co.uk/Shop/productDataSheet.jsp?productid=UTG6641&menuselection=3&colourScheme=1 £27.76 - just for the stones for another project
http://www.gemstv.co.uk/Shop/productDataSheet.jsp?productid=UMY2483&menuselection=3&colourScheme=1 £199 - I adore this one. No idea why! However, I've been diddled because tonight it sold on Gems2 for £198.99!
http://www.gemstv.co.uk/Shop/productDataSheet.jsp?productid=UTS0418&menuselection=3&colourScheme=1 £175 - were these a special deal of the day a few weeks ago and cheaper?
http://www.gemstv.co.uk/Shop/productDataSheet.jsp?productid=UGD7684&menuselection=3&colourScheme=1 £33.99 - I dumped the pink diamond version because I loved the more vibrant rubies AND it's £115 cheaper!

Debating this, what do you think?

http://www.gemstv.co.uk/Shop/productDataSheet.jsp?productid=UJY9261&menuselection=0 £249.65

"Cheap enough" does add up though, doesn't it? I've just sent back a rhodolite ring which, although it was nice and good value for £50, I just couldn't see myself wearing it. It's easy to get carried away - and, having recently bought one of those amazing fancy sapphire and diamond bracelets AND a pair of earrings from Gems, I have to be a bit restrained!

I know nuffink MissM. However, I've never let that stop me and have seen all these properly on the telly (there's a surprise!). I like them all except the pink diamond. This is purely based on a matter of taste as the pink ring is too frilly for me. I loved the blue diamond earrings and I'm sure, if I were able to wear earrings, I'd have been sorely tempted. The blue zircon is lovely and if the stone is as good a colour as a couple I have, then it should be very pleasing. The amethyst and marcasite I like for its austerity of design, and sharp well defined angles. xxxxxxx

That's amethyst and CHAMPAGNE DIAMONDS, Argey, not marcasite - seemed pretty good for the price!

Ditto the blue diamond earrings Meesh, and love everything else although that pendant would get lost, either in me whiskers or between me chins :giggle: xxxx

Sorry MissM, didn't mean to be rude with my "cheap enough" comment. :( Me bad.

Adina is waving around a nice pink diamond ring "coming up later" which will be before midnight I think as they have listed an "under" something session then. It's the one that looks a little like the yin and the yan all pink diamonds divided by yellow gold. They look pinker than some which have been a bit beigey looking to me (but then I can't tell champagne diamonds from marcasite). :cheeky: xxxx

It's okay Ian, you're off the hook on this one :wink2: xxx

thast good then
