Thanks for posting this Andi. I have been looking at a few beauty advent calenders and this one has most of what I would like to try and some travel sizes of items that I already use, so better value for me. I collected one today from my local Boots.

That sounds like fun. I might do the same as I don’t get many Christmas presents to open and I have the cheaper Macmillan calendar from Boots I can open over Advent (or the other way round).

Yay! It is better than I first thought, actually. I will use most if not all of the bits and pieces.

Loathe as I am to look at let alone share anything related to the Daily Fail, You magazine (found it online) has just done a VERY comprehensive piece on Advent calendars...
There are beauty plus jewellery and food, wine etc ones featured, although some are SO expensive they'd make your eyes water..!

Gosh they are pricey!!! But a very interesting read. I got the M&S one today as luckily I wanted some PJs but it still felt a lot of money. Still I'm sure it will be fabulous and I shall save it until Christmas morning as I dont have family so it will be like getting a load of presents. Of the others I wouldn't mind the Nuxe one as I do like their mask and lip balm so trying a few other bits would be interesting. I shant be buying it though!

Well done for getting your M&S calendar - and ideal as you also wanted Pj's.

I got the Latest in Beauty/ You calendar last year as a treat to myself! It had some really good things in it. Saved some to gift! (Helped pay for the 50 calendar..!)

I'm so sorry you don't have family, that's really sad and I hope you don't get too lonely especially around Christmas :(
Hope it will be nice to open the bits from the calendar and have a lovely quiet day of doing whatever you want to do! ;)

And I feel your pain, as I'm housebound and poorly so although I do have family (well mum and my bro and his family), I'm usually too ill or see them or anyone.

Think I may plan not to and just try to rest on the day this year, as last year was awful trying to arrange it and then not being up to having guests. Plus my mum had pneumonia, anniversary of my dad's death - followed shortly by my 40th birthday! Oh dear! ;)

Ooh, I feel a cosy Christmas day with a lot of pampering going on & eating Christmas treats whenever you wish. Opening your calendar on Christmas day is a lovely idea & I do hope you have a special day doing what YOU want to do. I have got images in my head now of you wearing a face mask whilst cooking your lunch!

I got this wine advent last year as a total extravagance and I enjoyed every sip of it (despite having to fight Mr CC for the red wines which he actually doesn't even like - unless I'm having one :mysmilie_10:)

I'm with you on the Daily Fail. I call it the Daily Hate. Mr B Obviously reads the Guardian - People would point if we had the Socialist worker delivered.

Note to self : Set aside time to wind up Mr B tomorrow about 'Red' stuff. Haaaaaa

Haha! When my brother first got married, that was the first time I witnessed people (his in-laws..), actually reading the Daily Fail as a “news”-paper (that or the Express - argh!) ;)
As good Guardian-reading lefties, many a time had to bite our tongues! Once I got to know them better, could tease them more freely.

I eventually gave up on regular Guardian reading as it too can live up to its own cliches a lot of the time, so now like to vary between it, the Indy and The Times for some variety...!

(Hope you had fun winding up the Hubby!)
