Well, I'll never buy another Sealy mattress again. It went from being the most comfortable thing I'd ever slept on to having two coffin-sized dents in it six months later. They sent a man out with a stick and a tape measure who said it was normal.
A few months later there was a couple on a consumer programme with the same bed and problem who had gone through the same process. After the programme got involved the couple were refunded due to it having a fault after all and their man had got it wrong. So, I contacted them again only to be told that the couple on telly's bed didn't really have a fault but they wanted to keep them happy. Did they refund or offer me an exchange? No.
Having said that I replaced the mattress with a memory foam one and the bed itself has lasted 12 years. We've recently started looking for a new one and it seems bed quality just by looking at the drawers alone has gone downhill considerably in the last decade. I can't believe how cheaply thrown together they are even in so-called premium beds.
Really, though? These manufacturers are charging a LOT of money for something that's obviously being made very cheaply. Would it kill them to make these things a little more sturdily?
