The woke brigade are the ones spoiling things, I see they they are now enraged that Disney are showing a clip of the Prince kissing Snow White without her consent FFS 😡
If I live a little longer I will become the new minority - hope I get pandered to as we now have to do to all the woke brigade.
I totally agree with you on this subject. I am 79 years old and I will continue to say it how I see it not how I am told to say it. Fgs the ****** world has gone mad.
Good for you ! I would also say "why not ? " These idiot kids at university who are 'cancelling' speakers because they don't agree with their opinion on certain issues, don't realise how free they are in a society that enables them to be part of a 'cancel culture'. They would think differently if they lived in a culture that wouldn't even allow them to do that ! and if they continue down this path then in 50 years time their own children could be living under a dystopian regime that they have created by their actions now.

As 'your resident' feminist I could not agree more.

What in the world does feminism have to do with a world gone mad I hear you ask? At first glance not a huge amount but...

Over the last few years, I've been wondering what's going wrong. I grew up as a right little tomboy. Before the age of 12, I'd ridden or driven most things, wheeled or hooved. I was brought up by a father who wanted a son so spent a lot of time in his workshop. I also learned how to use firearms and hunt and fish (though I disappointed my dad by refusing to shoot living creatures).

My first big 'feminist' disappointment was not being able to do tech drawing in school as it was a 'boys' subject. Then there were the staring, comments, pawing and groping from strange men and men I knew that came to the family business. Laughed off by my father!

However, hope was on the horizon in the form of 'strong women' like Alexis Carrington (my heroine!), and even though I despised her as I come from a mining family, Maggie T.

Then along comes internet porn and it all goes wrong. It didn't affect me directly (even though on cleaning out my ex's shed two 4 foot stacks of porn mags which explained, at a fiver a pop, why we were short on money), but my niece and daughter were complaining about boyfriends wanting to do things they'd seen online. I'm more than happy to say those two are both strong enough to say NO to anything they weren't happy with.

Just as we have a few films highlighting women's struggles (Misbehaviour, Suffragette, Hidden Figures, Mrs. America), we start having hard-earned rights quietly being eroded. It's started with a lot of misinformation being bandied about there - the biggest one of all being that it's illegal to prevent males from using women's spaces like toilets and changing rooms. At the moment (though it's being fought hard against in very sly ways), we DO have the right to say no to having males in workplace toilets etc. If your work is disagreeing and you're in any way concerned point them to the HSE who will show them the law about having separate facilities. The Equality Act 2010 still also protects women. Please look into it before this is amended.

Giving room to men in women's clothes using women's facilities is just the start of a slippery slope to us giving up our rights to ALL men again. And this presenting as a bloke one day and as a woman expecting to use women's spaces the next takes the biscuit! No! While I'm happy that some men feel comfortable enough to dress as they please in public these days, we need to stop pandering to these blokes while it ultimately affects women's rights.

Yes, I'm a dinosaur. But I'm also a dinosaur who has supported gay rights since I discovered my own sexuality. Although I find calling SS couples wife and wife/husband and husband a bit odd, I'm over the moon that my gay friends can now have the very important legal rights afforded to straight couples.

However, the 'woke brigade' are muddying waters by confusing the fight for gay rights with transexual rights. If I hear one more 'wokester' tell me that women aren't giving up anything by sharing with MEN wearing dresses and makeup I will self-combust! The point is we ARE giving up our fought-for rights. I'm disabled but pre-pandemic could get about using crutches. I complained about seeing an obvious male using the toilets in a M&S store and was asked why I wasn't using the disabled or I could ask the dress-wearing burly bloke to use the disabled myself. NO! HE should have been using the men's! Why should he use the disabled? I didn't use it as I could see a wheelchair user in the cafe and thought their need might be greater than mine. I then got abuse from the young woman behind me about being transphobic. Again, NO. I could not give a rat's bottom about anyone else's predilections. I DO give a rat's bottom about keeping women's spaces for women. That's the least we deserve.

The 'woke brigade' truly are spoiling things. In a very serious way. I picked up a paper last week to see a 'woman' in Haverfordwest exposing 'herself' but the accused 'woman' is actually male. Really?! I know that papers have to report in a certain way but please be clear about the people you report on - or at least report it as exposing a body part so the unwoke understand who's perpetrating the crime. This is reporting a crime and should be recorded by sex not gender. The 'woke brigade' are too prissy to use the word 'sex' as it should be used. Talking of, the new head of the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre is now a man. Who dresses as a woman. Who is recorded as saying he applied for the job (requiring that only females apply) and got it as he was never asked if he was male. He also said that he doesn't understand why rape victims wouldn't want to talk to/be examined by a man. WTAF? 'Wokeism' gone mad.

Anyone here like Father Ted? The creator, Graham Linehan puts my concerns so much better on his site the Glinner Update - well worth a read (and you don't have to sign up), if only for the cartoon showing Feminism v Gender Ideology and how it affects us all gay, straight, man and woman. He was 'cancelled' by the 'woke brigade' for supporting women. His 'cancelling' has been even nastier than the JKR fallout and more recently, Lady Gaga for writing on Twitter a nice little message to women on International Women's Day cheering women on in a male-dominated world. Being threatened with rape and murder just for supporting other women says it all about the mental health of some of these 'woke' types.

It truly is a world gone mad if we can no longer have free speech/opinion on whatever rings our bell be it CE's ever-open gob (though I do wish her and her partner all the best) or Snow White's prince's kiss. You're absolutely correct, Brissles. What a sad (and dangerous) world youngsters have to look forward to. But at least the government have agreed not to change the word 'mothers' to 'pregnant people' to keep the 'woke' happy (just how much would all that cost to change?). Common sense please, though that seems to be lost on most youngsters these days.

PS if you read all that, well done!
PPS I sincerely apologise for the length and rant of all that but I get so upset about the loo thing due to my own past experiences as well as those of my niece (flashed by a man in a dress in the ladies) and my friend (one of several victims of a man who secretly filmed women using the toilets after accessing them wearing a dress).
PPPS I'm now half expecting the police to turn up at my door Harry Miller style for my rants against the 'woke' of any persuasion.
PPPPS I honestly don't hate all men. Just the idiots.

A very glamourous friend went into the ladies at a shopping centre because she was having a wardrobe malfunction, her bra strap kept slipping and she wanted to adjust it.

While she was standing in the cubicle she noticed a very expensive phone sliding under the partition to the cubicle next door.

She took great pleasure stamping a six inch stiletto heel through the screen.

Why oh why do they still have cubicles of any type not completely enclosed? Not long before Covid my niece's friend had a lit cigarette thrown over a cubicle door at her in a pub.

It's a great pity she didn't actually stamp on the phone owner's hand, too. I used to hate wearing heels but they came in very handy in my younger days on a night out for 'innocently' falling back onto the perve behind's foot when he was trying to grope me.

Surely, does it really matter if you are 'cancelled' ? you only realise you are cancelled by reading social media, so don't read it, and carry on with your opinions anyway. I suppose if you're a sleb then I suppose record sales / books can be affected, by surely only by a minority. Ignore the bullies, they'll soon move on to someone else.

I wonder what CE got for a wedding present from her fellow presenters - Pick n Mix from the staff shop ?

One of my daughter's friends is going through the horror of her fiance being caught, & pleading guilty, to voyeurism - up skirting & other nasties. They have two children & the ripples in a pool effect on their lives will last through their schooldays in an official manner but will be discovered by anyone because of social media etc. He didn't go to prison as it was felt that he could be rehabilitated. I have no idea whether he'll ever work again, he was an electrician...

Eldest daughter always refers to her current partner as "my other half". I find it annoying considering that none of them have ever put a ring on it! There, I've said it now 🤭
My parents always called each other 'my better half', together they made a perfect whole 💕

Something I did quite often when travelling on a rush-hour Tube to & from work. Men in their smart city suits & briefcases “copping a feel” soon felt my stiletto impale their foot.

JKR was cancelled by a few of her followers but gained more when people realised what and who her infamous tweet was about. I dare say she wouldn't give a rat's bottom about being cancelled anyway but the woman she tweeted about did actually lose her job over her beliefs.

As you say, as so much life is played out in SM it doesn't really matter to most people and the bullies, when ignored, mostly move on.

I find it deeply disturbing, though, that the minority bullies are having such a huge effect on the average girl/woman in sports in particular. I see in the press a male-born person is going to Tokyo in the Women's weightlifting team. This will probably mean medals for Britain but also a lost place for a girl who has trained her guts out for a place.

Sports is the one area where studies prove the differences between the two sexes and in team sports it is dangerous to have a person who was born male and developed muscles like a male that aren't lost during hormone treatment playing with women. We're not allowed to say that but at least Bruce, err, Caitlyn Jenner has.

Big organisations are falling for the 'be kind' bull when being kind is a mostly female trait - but it's not helping women right now.

A gave a swift, hard slap across the chops to a perv who groped me. To say he was stunned was an understatement. I was 17 at the time.

I feel for her. And her children.

My friend's daughter went through a similar thing several years ago. Her husband's father was eventually jailed for sex crimes he'd committed years ago. Living in a small community, the dirt rubbed off and ripped the marriage apart. Her husband paid for his father's crimes in the saddest way. This was before social media, too, but it's all out there now.

Your daughter's friend has hard times ahead, her children even harder. I don't believe any man can be rehabilitated from stuff like this, he just might hide it better. But that's just me speaking of experience from my ex's porn addiction. I didn't find out about it until after our divorce but the way he treated me spoke volumes that I didn't understand until I heard a rumour from his ex after me.

His family are victims just as the women he committed the crimes against. I hope they get support.

That's the ideal reaction, LATI. Well done.

Women need to do this more often but these days we'd most likely be the ones getting a visit from the police!

I decided a long time ago that drawing attention to them was a great way to stop them in their tracks, if only until the next crowded area tempts them. Shouting something like 'what the hell are you doing?' and 'get your hands off me' while pointing at the bloke groping/rubbing is very satisfying. It's more likely to get others involved if the perve has any thoughts of not stopping or taking it further.

I've been alone on a bus in broad daylight when a bloke with his, ahem, appendage out came and sat opposite, drawing my attention by rustling crisp packets (an old favourite of the average perve judging by other women's experiences). He sure as hell didn't think I'd scream at the driver to stop the bus like a deranged banshee. Ahhh, the satisfaction of unmasking a perve, even if it was only to the driver (who did stop the bus and order him off).

I've been reading in todays papers about a famous person who apparently used to have a penchant for getting his appendage out, for a joke he insists. This was whilst working around others.
It beggars belief why he thought this was acceptable behaviour.

Didn't he appear on the Q about 10 years ago when it sold albums?

Who?

A joke my arse! Men who do this don't joke about it. They enjoy the reactions they get. I've been flashed more times than I care to remember and it was always for the reaction.

It doesn't stop at flashing either. Every single one of my female friends who've used dating sites and apps get sent unrequested dick pics. I've warned Mr. AE that if I pop my clogs and he starts dating again that if he ever sends an unrequested dick pic I will come back and chop it off!

WTF is wrong with some of these men? It isn't like their bits are even attractive or pretty to look at. Now if they sent a pic of their eyes they'd get a much better response.

I also wish people would teach their female relatives that it's fine to get angry with men like this, too. We bring girls up to be too polite. An embarrassed giggle just encourages these idiots.
