Caught a glimpse of Jackie Kabler just now and the TSV looks OK on her but at 5ft 10" (I think she is) she's hardly petite is she? The small model last night looked like she was wearing an old fashioned man's nightgown or was about to paint the stairs.

Agreed! So wtf is this item doing in a collection that's supposed to be designed for petites? It positively swamps anyone who lacks stature, and I've seen a couple of other items that don't look as though they'll suit a shorter person.That dogstooth (dog's dinner) long cardigan for one, and the heavily patterened splodgy pink and black dress. Talk about the clothes wearing the person....Isn't that a rudimental "no no" in fashion?!

Model Claire is on and it's making her legs look very short but if the back was the same length as the front she'd look fine. The garment is just odd. Some of the colours are nice though, the blue and green.

How Q has the brass neck to call most, if not all, of the clothing they sell "fashion" I do not know. Fashion and Q appear to be barely on nodding as they pass by terms.
They sell clothing. Most of it derivative or out-dated; most of it far from environmentally sound.
I have bought items in the past and by diligent research have found some good pieces. Are they fashionable? Probably not.. but then I have never done well by shopping for the latest trends, so I don't care.

One thing I noticed - at the 9pm - was that for once - Claire seemed to be wearing the correct size. Compared to what she normally has on, she actually looked nice!!! Less so in the polytatster tsv though. Wonder will it sell out?

And - all the gush off tweets at 9pm were nauseating. 'influenza' posts, pics, blah blah. I noticed that at least one of the 'fluenza' posts was a paid content by Q.....Ah.

I did watch a bit of the midnight show. I studied O level sewing, or "Dress and Design" to give it the correct title. Yes somethings will have changed over time, but basics will not have.

Some of the high-low CAN look good and practical, but when the high flashes your crutch and the low if you are not careful go down the pan when having a wee then something odd going on.

Like a lot of Q stuff, good idea but flames falls flat in its execution. I like the garment but feel it should be more of an evening or a "posh do" type. Sort of a new take of a male DJ/tail coat. But it is way way too long for normal wear. I have over, the years had evening jackets, some I've made, some I've tweaked, some even have been good from the shop but for a trip around the local supermarket, sleeves too long, back too long, and really all wrong. I like it in theory and as a concept but....

Anyone ordering it I hope you enjoy it, I'm a little envious as I like the idea. But not for this 5'4" shortie.

That's disgraceful, and I wouldn't pay a penny for a garment that's not been finished off properly. From what I've seen of this "petite" range so far, it looks heaps better on the taller/slimmer wearer..so back to the drawing board I'd say. I've said this before, but Q need to put some effort into sourcing a range or ranges of clothing that flatter the fuller figure. At the moment, the only choice is buy something too small that strains at the seams, or a shapeless sack.

Is it my imagination or are all the tops far too tight at the bottom on even the very slim models?

Even the TSV which is long and unfitted is pulling at the back waist.

All the ones I saw were pulling over the bottom on all the models. Not good. The cut needs at least another couple of inches so where's the quality control?

I think they’ve got a bit OTT with how difficult it is to be ‘petite ‘, almost treating it like a disability! I am 5ft 2’’ with small wrists, and I can honestly say that I’ve managed to dress myself and wear jewellery with no bother all my life, and never been reduced to tears, or had a meltdown in a shop when trying to buy clothes or jewellery, and don’t have to have my clothes altered to fit me. This range is just the QVC standard ‘designer range’ - hi / low hem shirt, faux leather biker jacket, slim leg jeans, patterned blouse/top, all in the usual choice of colours. The TSV was awful and overpriced, can’t understand how it sold so well.

Anything with enough hype will sell, what really matters is the number of returns - for every 100 sold 85 returned?

MayM at 5.2ft you are an Amazon to me as I just, with squinted eyes, manage 5ft! Apart from length my problem is having gained a lot of weight which means I’ve had to go up to bigger sizes which assume you are big all over rather than in specific areas.

When I was size 14 which some people consider a plus size (WTF) I had no trouble and tended to shop in places which offered different leg lengths.

The thing which does bug me is that ,despite what fit model Renee says , increase in sizing is just add x to the length, bust, hips with no thought to proportions and possibly the worst of all is no allowance for sleeves which are often so tight you can’t even get your arm in it. Same with trousers, it’s ok to make hips and waist bigger but if the thighs are the same for a size 12 it’s no use to man nor beast.

Lati me too, and since I've been on furlough I feel as wide as I am tall.

Often petite leg lengths mean they've just been cut shorter at the bottom than standard leg lengths so the proportions are wrong, and shirts are cut shorter at the hem but the sleeve lengths are left ridiculously long so they reach my finger tips.

Many moons ago when I was much younger, the word "petite" would be used to describe an adult who was short in height ..lets say under 5'4", had a small frame and small feet. I've known a few people who are in this category and boy, have they had trouble finding adult clothes that fit, and as for footwear - it's children's shoes, or spend a fortune in a specialist shop. Most other shorter people I've known have had no trouble finding anything, perhaps have had to take up or roll up the hem on a pair of jeans but that's been about it .
Dannii's range starts at size 6, but where are the petite "petite"models? The model that represents that person who's struggled all their lives to find adult clothes that fit them properly. Yes, these clothes might come in smaller sizes , but the styles! Extra long arms, extra long hems, huge checks, busy patterns - Really?!!!
I totally agree with Clothescloth it's just another standard QVC "designer" range, and so overpriced that the "petite" would be no worse off going to a "proper specialist retailer" - sorry Dannii!

Trying to avoid Hollywood Harry & degree wife IW is on and there is a top with a similar very long back (so not just Q). However whilst it is plain there is a slight pattern in the pleat at the back and the price is a lot lot cheaper. Cant imagine it’s a lot different in quality.

I have a real bugbear about the fact that sizing for women is relative, and varies from brand to brand. If you have a size 16 garment from 30 years ago, would a modern size 16 woman fit into it? I very much doubt it.
I used to have dresses and skirts from the charity shops which I know if I was currently the size on the label I would not fit into.
Men's clothes seem to use absolute measurements so they are not subjected to dress size tyranny. Collar and chest for shirts, waist and leg for trousers.
Women would be better served by a similar system, in my view... and there would necessarily be more awareness of weight creeping on. The current system, with vanity sizing means it is easy to sleepwalk into being a larger size physically.

I have a tape measure in my bag to measure clothes in shops. But I also do a quick fit to my body. But I know what arm holes should be so they don't expose a bra strap or cut your armpit. I also have a set of exercises and stretches I do in the fitting room.

I learnt this after getting a pair of trousers with a belt where the trousers were great standing up but sitting down the belt stayed on my waist but the trouser waist went on a walk of it's own. Consequently the belt was too tight and looked dreadful. Not a good look when you are going on a coach trip and hoping to be sitting there for the best part of 10 hours. I know carry leggings for travelling, a size bigger. Hell they are cummffeee.
