I'm really hoping that some clever techie FM's will be able to help me ....... please!

I was given an ipad mini for Christmas and I love it except for one thing ... the amount of SPAM I'm getting :headbang:

I don't get any SPAM on my Netbook or laptop and friends who have ipads say they don't get any so why am I getting all this rubbish and is there anything I can do to stop it?

It is one of the many things iPads of any shape lack, a spam filter.

Not sure how you can get around it. I expect on your other devices you are getting them, they just go in your junk folder.

Long shot but is if a gmail email?

Thank you for your reply PJ. :mysmilie_504:

The rubbish I'm getting on my Ipad never even makes it to my junk folder on my other devices, thank goodness.

It's blueyonder and hotmail email.

Aah, if it was gmail there is a separate app for that. I have never heard of mail going to iPad but not when looking on. PC or laptop sorry. Does sound an unusual fault.

Have you googled to see if anyone else has the same problem? When there is something I don't get with my iPad I have usually found an answer on one of the apple sites where they deal with such stuff.

The spam problem isn't linked to you ipad nor the email client on the ipad. Its a blueyonder/hotmail problem in the first place but I suspect that the email client on the ipad is pulling down email before they get removed i.e. downloaded by whatever message rules are for spam. As a matter of interest, is it the same on your webmail account of hotmail?

Everytime I set up an email on an iPad it does pull emails back I deleted months before. Would love to know why. It is set up on my Outlook to delete from my server (my own domain) when I empty it from my deleted file.

Thank you so much, Sheepdog :mysmilie_504: I've changed the message rules on my hotmail account and so far today I haven't had any SPAM so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Btw I checked my web account of hotmail and there weren't any of the casino or begging emails I was getting on my ipad. Same for blueyonder.
