I bought a Kitchenaid mixer TSV which was excellent value at £279 and has worked brilliantly, but the fact that the manual came in a foreign language makes me wonder if it was reconditioned.

I think it was Aldi had stand mixers in a mini form for about £50. Sold out straight away. I'd like a mixer but no room and no point buying one to put in the cupboard because it would never come out of the cupboard.

I've got a kenwood Chef packed away somewhere. I bought it some years ago when I was going through a baking phase, but I eventually found that I was getting as good, if not better results using my old handmixer, which obviously didn't take up a massive amount of work surface in my kitchen. It came with a few attachments but again I found more convenience, and as good results from my handheld and small versions of everything. Think it's been packed away for about 4 years and I haven't missed it in the slightest. Cost a pretty penny too. You live and learn, and discover that you don't necessarily need to spend a lot of money on big brand names to get good results, whether it be stuff for the kitchen, hair care gadgets ,cosmetics etc....Total waste of money! I bought a pasta making attachment for the kenwood at one stage, and ended up getting a refund as it was such a painstaking process for really rather disappointing results. So not tempted in the least by this!
Just checked back..on my posts and I annexed the damn thing 5 years ago!

I've got a Kenwood Chef with a liquidise/.blender attachment.

A few years ago, I turned the dial up to maximum speed, and it went past the max mark and wouldn't go back.

I contacted Kenwood, and didn't even get a reply.

As the blender was used regularly, I ended up buying a Vitamix instead.

Eventually I fixed the Kenwood after watching YouTube videos, but now I don't need it anymore, so it's just taking up space.

Even OH doesn't want it, as she prefers making pastry etc by hand.

I use my mixer all the time for baking cakes I have a big family so a lot of birthdays and high teas plus general pastry and batters etc but I agree about the extras I never use them. I have a vitamin which I hardly use but I have a Braun machine that I prefer for small batches of pastry and crumbles

Looking at potential Black Friday deals it is anticipated that Argos will have the cream one on offer.

I think some deals are often an older model but unless you are looking for something like better battery life sometimes last years model is just as good.

I swapped a Kenwood for my Kitchenaid (which I love) and it also gets a lot of use. I didn't buy any attachments and don't need them, just the metal bowl and the 3 beaters that came with the mixer. The 4 colours QVC sell are the 4 that are always cheaper than the other colours, maybe because they're mass produced. But watch out for foreign manuals. Maybe that won't be the case this time because it's £20 dearer than what I paid. Still, I reckon a good buy if you do enough baking.

I bought my Kitchenaid from the Q & it was one of my best purchases from them -2 different size bowls, 3 attachments & an ice cream maker. It's a Classic, sits on a part of the work surface that's too small for anything else & I use it several times a week even for mashing potatoes.

I see they are having videos on Arsebook with presenters doing “a Mary Berry”. Today it is Chunts and it has turned into a total love fest.
I think mine's a great bit of kit but I don't stroke it! That's reserved for my three boys, the fluffy ones & the other one 😉

iLife Boffy I have the Kenwood and have had it years but these days I only use it once a week on average. I also have a Morphy Richards small food mixer which I use more these days as don’t bake as many large cakes as I used to. I was in the Lakeland shop last week and they have the full range of Kitchenaid products and they have a gigantic red food mixer for promotion purposes. It must be at least 8 feet high.

I think Kathy Tayler is supposed to be making carrot cake on facebook today.

What happened to all the other Kitchenaid products? Yesterday's TSV was a bit of a damp squid - sold out of one colour before midnight, the rest warranted just half an hour of each hour at most. It used to be a whole hour of baking and tips - but there was nothing else yesterday. Very disappointing.
