The BA was freezing custard, tinned pineapple, chocolate pudding, and other ready made products, freezing them, and then calling them ice cream. No cream or eggs in any of them that are usually required for real ice cream, or gelato. The churning for 2 minutes must do something to the consistency to make it creamy, but the result is far from ice cream. Probably very tasty, though, but loads of sugar.

I make “ice cream” in one of the first Ninja machines that aired on QVC, so I’ve had it for a few years. It‘s basic but chops, purées and can reduce ice to “snow” when you press the button on the lid to pulse it.

I just put yoghurt into the jug, add frozen fruit from the freezer and zap it. Result? “Ice cream” that looks like the ones produced by today’s TSV. I can’t for the life of me remember what model my machine is though 🤔 but it definitely wasn’t expensive and does everything that I need it to.
