I got a very nice email back with a pic of Oban from Andy thanking me for my concern and saying that Loen only gave Oban what amounted to one serving per week when he would not eat his kibble after doing some research
I did mention that personally I would never feed it especially if they are on a complete food/kibble or even a natural diet for that matter.
You have to be so careful rearing large big boned breeds with their diet, and when a puppy tries it on being faddy you make a rod for your own back by adding things to tempt it to eat and it can be dangerous by unbalancing an already scientifically prepared food
I still think feeding liver over a long period of time even in small amounts could be dangerous.
 
Hugs to you Argey......it takes a long time to get over the loss of a pet. We still think about our previous Beardie who had to be put to sleep over 5 years ago now but she comes to mind every single day.

I'm "mummy" to Maisie now and, like you, she associates that particular word with me.

I had an assistance dog until she died Christmas before last, and I'm still not over it. A beautiful, elegant, intelligent creature who impoved the quality of my life beyond description. I didn't call her baby (she was Rosie) but I did refer to myself as mummy, and she understood that the sound of the word mummy had some connection to me. If she was told by another "take to mummy", "go to mummy" or whatever, she would do so.

Sorry - slightly off on a tangent at the end, and I've gone and upset meself.

Those dogs are marvelous and certainly are a wo/mans best friend our dog club is well on its way to paying for the training of an assistance dog.
I hope you get over your loss soon, you must have so many happy memories about Rosie to cherish forever.

sorry, Madaboutdogs, it's nothing to do with your thread in general.....I have a rather worrying obsession with Mr Love:8: The thought of him replying to your email gave me ideas.

On a serious note, it's nice to see the people involved with IW actually answering their emails......shame their CS don't follow suit!

I've only just read this thread and the thought of trying to get a message to Loen not to feed her dog liver, via IW customer services, sent me into hysterics. Phone conversation: "How much liver did you order"?, "You want to cancel the dog"? "The liver hasn't arrived"? "You received the wrong sized dog"? "We will send you a new dog in a different colour and cancel the liver"? The mind boggles!!

I totally agree with all of you, our pets are our babies. They share our homes and our lives (or in the case of cats we share theirs) we are responsible for them, they rely on us for everything and give us unconditional love. I have a framed picture of a cat with the slogan "The More People I Meet, The More I Love My Cat" - so true!!

Its ok not being a `lateral thinker`I would never have guessed so had to ask...lol

I did email the studio and got no reponse thats why I asked on here...wonder how others get through?

Yes you are correct they would but wild dogs don`t get to eat everyday and also usually live in packs so I doubt the same dog would get the liver everyday...the danger with the `domestic` dog is the majority are fed on a `complete` food thats needs no additions as it usually contains all the nutrients vitamins and minerals a dog needs and to add extra vitamins can be quite dangerous especially with the fat soluable ones which are stored in the body, Vitamin A being one of them which is found in liver, so to feed it daily isn`t advisable. Sorry don`t mean to lecture.

lol this post did make me laugh!!!

In ref to pets I call my westie my puppy...shes 10! and cried my eyes out when my hamster died a couple of years ago!!!
