Ha ha, like how Mason went into a tune, then a musical discussion, to distract from the fact he couldn't get the lock on the watch case to work. :ROFLMAO:

Also strange how Clawley often refers to the brands as though he has no connection with them, like he's just an independent distributor / guest giving an unbiased view. Yet he's a sales director at the Dartmouth brands.

You can tell how unbiased he is by his comments on the Tourbillon watch - "to give you an example of Tourbillons that go on the world market, Tourbillon movements generally go between sixty grand and to 1.5 million if you're doing a Richard Mille. blah blah blah, eighteen hundred quid for a tourbillon is ridiculous super value, that should really be ten grand in today's money."

Great honest, unbiased example for prices of Tourbillon watches, if we're talking about/selling Tourbillon watches from high end luxury independent Swiss watchmakers that make their own Tourbillon movements, except the watch he is selling isn't from some high end Swiss watchmaker, it's from Solar Time in Hong Kong, and he didn't give examples of the prices for Tourbillon movements from the actual Country that this Tourbillon movement is made, ie China, which start at a few hundred pounds on the world market, not 60 grand. ;)

For accuracy and if anybody is really interested in the watch and wonder what movement is in it, seeing as Clawley doesn't seem willing to divulge, it's the PTS 3450A from PTS Resources (Hong Kong) which is part of the Hangzhou Watch Co.

Just another con artist.
Yeah selly telly love to compare what you're buying off them to expensive products sold elsewhere. Sometimes it's a direct comparison of exactly the same product e.g. a vacuum cleaner. So fair enough, if the selly telly channel is cheaper than other retailers the viewer is getting a genuinely good deal.

However when it's not a direct like for like comparison, again I don't think it's worth taking any notice. Jewelry channels love doing it. They're flogging you a ring for £199.99 and they'll show you a 'similar' ring being sold elsewhere for £2,999.99. Same carat weight, same stone, both gold bands etc etc. Now, it could be if you took both rings to an independent valuation expert they would say both rings are worth in the same ballpark. That is of course possible. Especially if the stones are close in terms of quality. In that scenario I'd be thinking 'wow, these channels are giving viewers genuinely amazing deals!' And of course in this example, the £2,999.99 ring maybe is overpriced e.g. due to the provenance/history of the retailer.

However, just as we say for products IW sell e.g. S&E watches, I suspect if a ring is being sold for £199.99, its retail value is probably ... £199.99 ;)

As I say, smoke and mirrors ...

I must admit that I don't watch much selly telly these days (QVC seems to be dominated by products aimed at the ladies) but every time I turn IW on I'm confronted by the awful foghorn Jacks. Is she the only presenter on that channel?

I tell a little lie, I did see a snippet of a watch show the other day (must have been Sally's hour off) which featured a luxury brand that I'd never heard of 'Nubeo'?
Same as me. I don't sit through entire shows, however I'm a serial channel-hopper so catch a few mins here and there. You don't have to wait for long for the guff to start ;) Actually with IW, I would almost guarantee within the first 2 mins of hopping on you'll hear at least one piece of guff e.g. 'these are flying out!!!'

:)

We're in meltdown, these are flying out!!!
Grab yours NOW guys!!!
Check OUT!!!
These aren't gonna last!!!
How many left (holds ear) is that all?!? Guys, you must act quickly to secure yours!!!

Fast forward x days ... same product still for sale ;)

A bit like most politicians, you can't trust anything these guys tell you.

"Flipping heck", I don't think there is a more irritating and annoying voice on TV, being a foghorn is bad enough but with a Burnley accent is just too much, rather listen to nails being scraped along a blackboard. Plus her whole hypocritical self promoting, attention seeking preachy persona is nauseating.

Nubeo, was a short lived brand from Switzerland, price wise they were in the luxury category (Up to $250,000), personally thought the watches were ugly. Kobe Bryant invested and backed them for a while, they collaborated in producing "The Black Mamba" watch range, but he pulled out and teamed up with Hublot in 2013, after he pulled out Nubeo were no more. Solar time managed to acquire the tademark (Solar time seem to be specialist in resurecting old watchbrand trademarks and passing them off as a continuation of the old brand) a couple of years ago and started a new Nubeo, nothing wrong with the watches if you like that sort of watch, but they are nowhere near being a luxury watch brand, big and heavy seems to be what they class as a luxury watch.

I feel the same in a way, I've no problems comparing like for like product, or the price of the same product from different retailers. But comparing products, even if they are the same type of product, from different ends of the quality/price spectrum is just stupid and very misleading. Certainly with some products there may not be much difference between the cheap and dearer alternative, but with some products there is a huge difference to what you get for your money and a huge difference in the amount of long term usage that can be had.

Creepy wearing his Clark Malwood shoes today, Steve the model can't believe the price, neither can i, they're nearly double the price that Amazon are charging.

IW - £62 + £3.99 p & p

Amazon - £32.50 free delivery.

Pretty sure they won't be doing a price comparison today.:ROFLMAO:
Direct from Clarks £26.00 +£3.95 p&p. :giggle:

I see the liars are saying the treadmill is limited stock again, when it does sell out until the other model will become the focus of attention until that sells out .............................then it will be back in stock until......
I think we get the picture

Kev on the Vostok Europe Alamaz with power reserve – Imported them from the states, took all the stock he couldn’t sell, and nothing left in the states, only 100 ever made.

Mike – “There you go guys, this is the only place to get them.”

Yeah, unless you go to

https://just4watches.co.uk/collections/vostok-europe-watches/products/almaz-yn84-320a626

and they are only £506 as against IW’s £529.99, they also offer the other colour but on pre-order.

Oh and BTW Kev, it's a YN84 not a YN85 that's inside it. ;)

They just can't stop, they lie so much that they've forgotten how to tell the truth.

"Lunokhod 2 chrono won't work because they are prototype samples for watch week" my arse, they are broken.:giggle:

I just couldn't understand that one, the time was set and working, had the right date and the small second hand was ticking away just fine, so the movement was working away inside it, so why was it's chrono function not working? The pusher didn't move at all when Mason tried to depress it, looked jammed as though they hadn't aligned the pusher with the movement properly.

Don't ask me how I got this, I can't divulge my sources. However here is a pic of the IW warehouse as of yesterday. Actually this isn't all of it, this is only section 'TM' which my source tells me stands for Treadmill. I think it'll be a while until they're sold out ...

The stock is really flying out.

Check out yer forklifts.

Kev asking Peter what he thinks the price of the Gaz 14 Chrono should be, book price is £400, Kev says if you're doing a really special deal then it would be £279 but look at the price £199.99. Ok Kev, what kind of deal is your son doing, as he's selling it at £220, ok not as cheap as IW, but it's well below your really special deal price?
