Don't know what it is but the beauty of marcasite just doesn't come out on camera (you have to see it in the flesh!) :biggrin

This one looks dark in the pic but isn't.

Bracelet - have the matching necklace but my sister-in-law has borrowed it! I had this one made smaller as I loved it so much.

Another bracelet - great bargain!

They all sparkle crazily - adore them. :biggrin

Sister-in-law also has also borrowed another couple (yes, she should buy her own).

One BIG marcasite bracelet on it's way. Think I have already posted my non-marcasite pics (though cant find them?)

What a beautiful collection Sara. Coloured Rocks marcasite is just divine and your second bracelet is amazing. I had always associated marcasite with 'granny types' until the Bennets came along. :)

WOW.....Sara....they are all simply divine!:)

Haven't gone for a bracelet orr necklace in marcasite ..........yet!!!

Though I have to admit another 2 marcasite purchases:8:

A pearl and marcasite ring which is to die for and a pair of earrings.

I luuuurrrrvveeeeeeeee marcasite!:4:

Lovely items there sara, I particularly like the bracelet in picture 5 might have a sneaky bid if that comes up again :)

I've got the heart bracelet now!!!! Divine. I will need it to be made smaller though & have never had anything like this done before. If anyone has any tips/things to ask my jeweller that would be great ta. I have got the matching earrings in my basket, waiting for something to tickle my fancy before I checkout!!

I also have 2 onyx & marcasite rings - one is long & slender, the other one reminds me of a shield. I think I'm on a slippery slope!

I had the bracelet made smaller (had one link taken out) - I sent mine away to Stanleys to be altered. :biggrin

:biggrin Hi Pepsi - yes they do send the link back to you - it would need a bale fitting to it though (just looking at it now) - would probably be a reasonably simple job for a jeweller to do - drat I should have asked about that - would be a very dainty pendant.

A lot of high street jewellers will tell you that marcasite pieces cannot be altered, as the heat from soldering damages the marcasite stones.

Stanley's (AKA Regency) do, however, have a marcasite specialist who uses a laser rather than soldering. I had a marcasite watch bracelet made shorter, and they did a great job.

Oh Sara they are lovely. If someone had told me a few months ago that I'd even be considering marcasite I would have thought them mad, but there's something about these designs, they're just so elegant aren't they?

:doggie:

I've had a couple of marcasite pieces this week- the swirl pendant and the seven piece pendant with garnet, both beautiful. I've had terrible trouble posting pics and still haven't cracked it, so, you'll just have to take my word for it! :1:

I'm on the lookout for a bracelet next, but the price of marcasite seems to be rising rapidly on Rocks.tv.
