Help Support ShoppingTelly:

Thanks again, everyone.

Definitely not gallstones - my partner has a problem with his. He's been trying to tell me it's gallstones despite acknowledging my symptoms are nothing like his  To be fair he's had a few bouts, the worst had him on his knees at 3am with his head in a bucket. He saw the doctor who gave him a diet sheet and told him to wait and see.

My twinges are getting fewer and further apart. Nothing today, no temperature, no more nausea. My fear is having what happened to catzrcool happen to me as similar happened to my cousin, but being a pig-headed old battleaxe I'm going to keep an eye out and bury my head for as long as I can.

Feel free to tell me 'I told you so' when I reappear after being MIA for a while. I'll take it humbly. But BIG thanks for the support and advice. A bit of hand-holding goes a LONG way for me.

How's Mazza today?

My OH told me I was talking more sense than usual !

Hi Alter. I do hope that this is the end of the incident for you, but do stay watchful!!!! And please call the doctor if any symptom recurs.

Thanks for asking after me! I have been relatively OK today except I wondered where my prescription was. Long/short, no order had been placed (I ****** knew it hadnt) so I sorted that then rang the pharmacy again at 5. Still no order so I had to ring the surgery again..... They had it but not actioned it. I'm ****** glad I bought the emergency tube of medihoney now. It may have cost £12 but at least I have it by me in case this f*****g palaver kicks off again. I refuse however to pay for the silicone drassings. They are £3-4 EACH! We get through about 6-9 a week.

I feel your pain. On more than a few occasions (so be prepared in case it happens to you) I've put in my repeats and rung the pharmacy when it hadn't arrived. They hadn't had it so I rang the GP. They'd had it but ignored it as I was overdue a review!

W.T.F?! Would it have been too much bother to ring me to tell me before I ran out of medication that shouldn't be stopped suddenly without it causing problems? This has happened twice to me now and I'm expecting it to happen again at some point soon as I've not been in for a check (nothing that couldn't be done on the phone) due to Covid.

How well do you know your pharmacist? if it happens again ring them and see if they can put it through for you until the surgery sends the script over or to fax the GP to save you paying for them. I have a good relationship with my pharmacist (no doubt I'm one of her best customers!) and it's stood me in good stead for times like those.

Hope it all goes plain sailing for you.

Yes I have had repeats delayed because of review dates before now. In fact once their computed screwed up and I wasn't anywhere near the review date! I get so fed up having to phone about such things. I had better check my next review date too although I am not sure how open to visitors the surgery is, and I can't get there anyway!

So the prescription is finally being dealt with and will be delivered later today. Allegedly. Well she finished the medihoney this morning so if they don't come I shall be able to produce my own tube with a flourish on Friday! This nurse had been before and thought the wound looked far better!! Yay!

Do you all know about the Common Ailments Scheme?

We spent a LOT of money on my partner's fungal skin infections (he's not grubby, just used to work in a very high heat environment - he'd come home with a bag of sopping wet clothes after every 12-hr shift). Then the pharmacist told us about this scheme so he no longer had to pay.

I don't think it would cover your specialised dressings, Mazza, but useful to know for future use. Also, I'm in Wales so not sure if it's the same in the rest of the UK. Worth a look, though.

3 guys get captured by natives, and the punishment is death by being arrowed to death😬 they all get one wish before they die.

1st man can I have a pint of your lager please, he drinks his lager then he is arrowed to death.

2nd man can I have a glass of whiskey please, he drinks it then stands there and gets arrowed to death.

3rd man can I have a bottle of aftershave please, confused they give him it and he splashed it all over himself he then stands there they fire the arrows but this time all the arrows miss🤔 they try again still the same they all miss😱

The head native walks over and says how the hell you doing that?????
It’s my aftershave he replies it’s Arramis.

(Must be worth a groan !)

I had a medication review via telephone with my surgeries Pharmacist on Monday.

I didnt have to pay for prescriptions because I was prescribed thyroxine which is free, and thus all other items were free. I cannot remember the name of that scheme but it certainly saved me a pretty penny. You had to reapply every few years via your GP IIRC.

Alter, I have never heard of the Common Ailments Scheme..... Please enlighten us!

I think you would have a medical exemption.

Can you believe it? I just did a google search and it has stopped in London from March!!! Oh well, never mind.

Now a stockpiling post..... MOLTON BROWN ROSA ABSOLUTE is being discontinued in 5 days, according to the email I got from them. I have only used it once and was surprised how much I liked it. I expect they will do the "special runs" now and again for Q.

This is my favourite of all the ones I’ve tried I absolutely love it. I will have to get some ordered before it is gone. Thanks M.

Pleasure. I remembered reading a post about it being a favourite so thought I had better spread the news. Q have the shower gel and body lotion for around £38 plus £3 postage, so not a great bargain, or the Rosa and tobacco absolute gels as a duo but I forget the price now. £36 perhaps.
