I was thinking of buying the package but I reckon I am better putting the £75 towards a new iPad mini. My iPad seems to have slowed down but it is almost 4 years old

I bought an Amazon Fire last Black Friday as backup in case I had an iPad disaster and would be offline! And I barely use it really and have no social media accounts, lol!!! Just shows how we get used to having stuff. It is pretty good but not as reliable as the iPad IMHO. And I am forever having to reinput my email password for some reason which never happens in the iPad. I would never regard this as an adequate replacement for the iPad so think you are right.

Just flicked onto seconds of LH—- now OFF, proves my reactions are still spontaneous.I find it really amusing the way they go on. I know I am another generation and not really into up to date technology ( I could be if something was really of interest to me)but the OTT manic interest, talking to ‘Alexa’ in the middle of the night & just mentioned ‘Love Island’.Proud to be grumpy old woman signing off.

I’ve got agree, nothing comes close to Apple products, even LH has said so himself in the past, no I know iPads/iPhones are a lot dearer, and yes I love shopping with Amazon and their service is amazing and yes for the price Amazon Fire is a great device, but nothing comes close to Apple, don’t think anything ever will.

I think the thing is when people begin to annoy us on threads or when they seem to like the sound of their own voices too much by posting all over the place, mainly for attention or to deliberately annoy, is not to feed the monster. Deprive them of the attention and the neediness they seem to have. Some people are just yawn inducing and pardon my French but arseholes are for wiping, not talking to and now I intend to take my own advice and comment no further.

Unfortunately you can't add extra memory to an ipad. I bought a 64GB (very expensive) but it is now full and there is no way to increase the memory.

you can add memory stick to expand storage but unsure if you can add apps to them

Mines no were near full and I've had it for years and it's a 32GB, but I only store photos, come on here, some apps and use it for shopping mostly. Can you not delete some things, I'm not very techy but can't you store things in the cloud storage?

I'd actually really like to buy a tablet as it would be good for taking on holiday. This deal doesn't look too bad, however I know with QVC they often make things look great and then it turns out not to be the bargain it was touted to be.

I think for the price, and if that's all people can afford, it's not a bad little tablet. Handy for carrying around and that emergency shop or email you need to send.

My ipad is mainly full of 7000+ music tracks, some long classical ones.

Unlike most tablets, you can't even connect an ordinary memory stick to it, only expensive specialised ones, and they never seem to do what you want.

No it isn't, it's because they are taking an essentially lighthearted comment to heart because it's about a member of their own gender. Just taking "Tipp-Ex-gnashers" Julie as one example - yes I find her mannerisms amusing. She is so full of herself and over-effusive it is actually quite funny to me. Perhaps you missed the post about "Ice-cold Kelly Hoppen" where I stated that Julie is enthusiastic and had some likeability whereas Hoppen has none?

Perhaps you missed the positive comments I made about Jan Springer, who I've never had anything negative to say about? There are countless others.

Perhaps you've missed the comments I've made about "Rasping Gnome" Richard Jackson? Or Boring Biagi? Or Charlie "Insincere" Brook? Or Jack Harrison? Or that little man who demonstrates floor cleaners? Maybe I'm a misandrist? But then I made very positive comments about Axel Ruth. Maybe I just hate everyone and everything? Or maybe I'm just a cynical, quite wordy person with a wry approach to things and you don't like that?

Whatever the case, we're all as entitled to our opinions as the next person. As I mentioned on the the other thread about QVC and men's products, QVC is very skewed towards women and it seems they are so because that is financially lucrative for them. They'd go bust within a very short time if they focused on touting razors, wallets and socks. The market they appear to be aiming for seems quite narrow, and as such they tend to get a lot of women on there who fit into a similar demographic - and they are often quite amusing because they are so posh and full of themselves. Lulu Guinness, K. Hoppen, Nikki from Lola Rose, Julie Flaaaaaaaaahs, Liz Earle, Caroline Archer and so on and so on.

If someone wishes to be hell-bent on seeing me as a misogynist, let them, if that's the drum they wish to bang.

To my mind it's not a bad thing when comments polarise opinion. I'd rather have that than the soupy, sycophantic ego-stroking that happens on QVC's Facebook page.

There are two things on this forum that people seem to find particularly emotive: women's rights and animal rights. People get really upset about these issues, in the same way I get extremely upset about Brexit. Most people have some cause that's very close to their heart and feel strongly about. I feel very upset at a lot of the things I read about Brexit and find them ignorant and hurtful, particularly in the Daily Express - a newspaper I wouldn't even consider good enough to wipe my arse with.

Again Julius, too long a post I zoned out after the first paragraph. You called me a "prostitute" a few weeks back, d'you remember? I wasn't offended because you don't know me so they were just words, but when you start contradicting yourself I find that odd for a "worldly man" A wordly man would stand by his comments, meaning, you've always said you love Catherine Huntleys voice, how you'd like to go to sleep listening to her "soothing" voice, you even called her the Cadburys Bunny and Jessica Rabbit, so when you see public forum opinion is mostly the opposite, you contradict yourself willy nilly, which isn't something I thought a man of the world would do, they're more likely to say it, and own it.

Just seen your last paragraph, people are emotive to women's rights and animals rights because these both cause pain to the fore mentioned in one way or another, and believe me Julius there will be a lot of people on here who still remember the callous way you talk about both, now that's not an opinion, that's just plain nasty.

I think they stopped offering that facility May 2017.

No, 5 monthly payments still available. I don’t know what other items, other than Amazon Alexa items can be purchased on easy pays. Just noticed it today on the tablets and echos etc.

I don’t know why 2 pictures have come up 🤔

Shopper I don't recall "calling you a prostitute!" I remember vaguely some post about Harrods, but I certainly wouldn't have done that, so there's a bit of twisting going on there. As for Cath Huntley, sometimes I quite like her voice and sometimes I think she overdoes it a little bit. It does remind me of that Cadburys Caramel Bunny. She's certainly not the worst. In term of voices, my views on Alison Young's voice has never changed - I don't like it at all. In terms of Alison Keenan, I think she has a great voice. My ex used to have a Honda Jazz and it was AK's voice that did the satnav - either that or it was her audio doppelganger, but I'm 90% sure it was her.

Seems OK. I bought an HP mini laptop with a 10.1" screen however the internal memory is already taken up with the operating system, making it not fit for purpose as I can't update Windows. I'd quite like a tablet but I'm not sure I'd need the Alexa part. It might be fun to try it and maybe even quite useful.
