I have to admit to having made the odd oblique comment...but it has no effect.

I remember one evening annieb and I had a "can you now request through chat? I thought we were meant to email or go into live help? " type conversation. Even the presenter saw our posts and said, "Yes, email your requests please..it's so easy to miss them in chat."

And yet still it persists!!!

I came in today to see Emma's goodbye, but was anxious to chat for fear of saying the wrong thing and noticed that, despite the number of people in today, chat doesn't have the same life and vigour it once had.

Ah well.

Having spent some time at Rocks today, I noticed this business of chat requests apparently getting immediate attention despite Jessica (I think) having asked for requests to go through help.

I'm sure, however, there is probably uncertainty in Steve's absence, and hopefully they'll all be singing from the same hymn sheet when he returns.

This is my first hour as a fully paid up member of this forum although I have been reading it for a week or so. As I see it the main problems are
a) one or two people taking advantage and
b) inconsistency in requests for items
I do all my requests now through live help. I think it's better, nobody else knows who has requested the items unless the presenter says and it does seem fairer.

We ought to have a book though. I'm sure some of us could win some virtual money with bets on who will buy certain items! [grin]

I saw someone offering to buy someone's gemstone the minute it was won saying they could make a profit.

Now, I don't really care if people are dealers, I mean we live in a Capitalist society, that's the bedrock (rock? Geddit?) of Cpaitalism but ... frankly I think it's bang out of order to blatantly, shamelessly offer to to take something off someone's hands. I also notice how some people leap straight in before the price has dropped - sometimes keeping the price higher.

I buy a lot of stuff and it's mainly for me. I sell some on for the same price as I paid with maybe a pound towards postage. But my dander was well and truly up today when I saw what happened. I don't know if anything can be done, but like I said, bang out of order!

Well I'm sorry, but she's really put me off buying at the moment. Half the thrill for me is seeing how low I can jump in, but she's bidding as soon as an item comes up.

I can understand that Ally, she is spoiling it for others.

She is still putting requests in the chat, I got so fed up with it yesterday I couldn't keep quiet and I pointed out that Jamie had just explained how it is so much easier for them to get the request in live help or e-mails so why was she putting hers in the chat......she ignored me. And I see today anytime I have logged in she is there still putting them in the chat.

I can only echo these sentiments. Over the weekend she suggested someone buy chains from a high street store rather than CR and I had to say something. I said simply that the chat isn't the forum to suggest alternatives to Rocks. There was no reply.
I know that resellers have to buy somewhere too but I, sentimentally I know, feel that Rocks is really for people who buy, wear, and enjoy the jewels themselves.
