There seem to be certain gay men who like to be flamboyant and loud, and think that gives them the green light to be over familiar with women, and grab and touch them inappropriately, pretending to be friendly and helpful. John Barrowman also falls into this category. They seem to think this makes them look funny and clever. Please don’t think I’m having a pop at gay men. As a retired hairdresser, I’ve worked with gay men for years and have many gay friends who I love dearly and socialise with regularly.

John Barrowman recently received complaints along with Noel Clarke (BBC) re inappropriate sexual behaviour. IIRC however, he said it was 'larking around type stuff' (penis flapping)

He did a hair range (!!) on Q a while back & didn't seem too bad on the telly. I bought the product on sale (way to £££ originally) & it was very good!

I was friends with a gay guy for years and I didn't even know he was gay. Told me one night after a curry and far too many wines. He was surprised I wasn't shocked (this was back in the 80's and in London). To me he was a dear friend, gay didn't come into it. I do think that some gay men (and women) do become very brash/in your face/loud. Maybe it's a defensive thing but no one has to do that. These days I don't think it's a big thing.

What made him ever imagine that exposing himself would entertain his colleagues?

The tsv is the pits. Another sh......ty print that's indistinguishable from Nina Leonard / Anttony / Renee and the rest. I wouldn't buy it from a charity shop for a fiver, let alone the supermarket at 15 quid - far too dated and old time mumsy looking for me.

The likes of Gok the Wok are just con men flogging cr..p to those who buy into his spiel.

Let’s face it - most of Qs fashion is the pits! Watching now as I fell asleep earlier and am now wide awake. According to Gok, once you’ve got one of these home, you’ll come straight back and buy another! Course you will - who wouldn’t want to pay £15 more- it’d be rude not to! Biggest shock was another MW horse blanket cum God knows what for £140 + £6.95 postage = Get stuffed! Quality looks pretty questionable too, I could be wrong, but the edges looked like they’d been finished with an overlocker- even my knickers are better finished than that! Talking about a half finished MW jumper Gok spouted how “expensive “ it looked, It didn’t btw, far from it, and like all Q fashion , it was expensive, bloody expensive! Time they took their heads out of their backsides and offered us some affordable garments that don’t stick to our backsides like that Totally Sh1t Value (see what I did there?!) On a positive note, the khaki green colour really suits knuckles Kramer!

I don't know who'd be fooled into buying this pricey, market stall, badly fitting bum-puller.

In the same midnight hour there was a MW "kimono" for a mere £140 - bargain basement stuff!
And we all thought that Yong Kim was silly prices for floaty modal in Farrow & Ball colours. Clearly the Q knew they were onto something, so did a straight swap of MW for YK and took the opportunity to add another 15% whilst they were at it.

Well, if Ambitious Amanda can make a million from QVC, then its a cash cow and easy money for anyone with half a brain ! Like Julien McDonald, Kelly Hoppen, Ryan Wottsisname, Michelle Moneybags, Ruthless Langford, etc, all they have to do is sit for an hour extolling the virtues (of their remembered script) while others organise the buying and shipment of the product from China, and then watch the money flood into their bank accounts !
THAT'S the reality.

I just don't understand how they shift so many units at Q at the ridiculous prices they charge for such inferior and sweaty fabrics. A quick shuftie online will find hundreds of lovely blouses made from natural fabrics, with a huge choice of styles, colours, patterns and lengths, and all pretty much at an absolute fraction of Q's crazy prices, ok you can't wear it for 60 days, spill food on it, let the dog sleep on it then send it back, but p&p is minimal and charged per order. I appreciate that Q do the larger sizes that you can't always find elsewhere and that not everybody has a computer or smartphone on which to do online shopping - But I think if you're a QVC addict then, you'd probably save money in the long run by investing in a computer or laptop and enrolling in a course (covid permitting). I say this in all seriousness (well almost lol) you could buy yourself a laptop and a broadband connection for the price of a couple of MW's horse blankets and a couple of vest tops!

I agree. QVC - before the internet became widespread, was the holy grail for ladies of a larger size, with Evans being the only specialist shop on the High Street. Finally in the last few years anyway, fashion has woken up to the fact that a size 16 is more the norm than not, so most retailers/outlets cater for the larger sizes. I would say though that I've found a lot of the 'larger' sizes don't "measure" up to what it says on the tape measure. A size 22 in some instances would barely fit a size 18 gal !

Years ago when Gok (not Cok) did a range for Sainsbury’s I bought a few items (in the sale) and they were well made and value for money. Are these offerings “made for QVC” especially - usually means the kiss of death on quality, value and convenience.

I've nothing against a easy to wear/easy to care for shirt that you can just chuck on with jeans or a skirt...but I agree that as a TSV it is shite - There's nothing special about it , it's certainly not good value, and it's not even "Today's" as it's a pre-launch. It's a ridiculous price to pay for a polyester shirt. Talking of shite, the dark patterned ones look like they've been dive bombed by seagulls, and the peach one looks like the wearer's been splattered by a passing tractor. It is described as a "splatter" print, apologies to those who love it, but it's a load of old Jackson Pollocks!
Very good!

Can‘t recall when I last went to clothes shop in Sainsburys even prior to the lockdowns hubby had nipped in for me. I hear they have moved clothing downstairs at my local, wondering when I’ll go out and visit 🤔

Well, on every presentation we're told that "thousands" have been sold. Eeee Gods ! if thats true then odds on we are all bound to see someone somewhere walking about in it. (preferably being dive bombed by seagulls 🤭 🤭 )

I was doing a quiz last night and one of the questions was “what does the V in QVC stand for?”

She answered “Value” and scored a point, but maybe the adjudicator should have been called over to dispute it. 😉

As I sit here reading this in my Sainsbury's top and cardi and my Tesco's Jean's and socks... I expect this Gok TSV price including postage would pay for my ensemble! Just a guess.
No way will I buy a polyester top, not at the supermarket, not on a market stall... and not for top dollar from Q.
