    Rave from the Grave

Am in the middle of a huge sort-out, after having some new carpets fitted. Found, in a cupboard, a 'Symbanet' juicer from QVC. I've never used it! I remember the man who used to demonstrate it, think he was German? Perhaps I will give it a try - it must be retro vintage by now :mysmilie_499:

US Tariff Wars and QVC UK

That's very true, Vienna, I was thinking more of the 'little luxury' type of items, including some clothing items, furniture, beauty, gifts, candles, home accessories etc. I think these have become more common and there are lots of talented people out there. It still takes some work to buy...

All the more reason to get out there and buy British!!

Garden Reflections Living Wall TSV 27/08/17

So let's really help our declining wildlife and put loads of plastic tat outside! I can't understand the trend for 'stuff' in the garden - what's wrong with nature? I do like some faux plants, but for indoors, this reminds me of plastic flowers from the 1960s

    We don't all go..........

Too true! It's always been the same with 'holiday fashion'. What I need are wellies, a good waterproof, walking boots and plenty of 'poo bags' (for the hound!) We are lucky enough to have a holiday lodge which we can use for a few weeks in the year and it has a hot tub. However robes and...

    Ugly shoes

I love Gabor - had a pair of flats from them that lasted YEARS, very good quality and some nice styles. Clarks I find variable but when good, very good. M&S also - bought a lovely pair of toe posts this year. Got a pair of Skechers lace-up (don't like the bungee ones) in TK Maxx and they're SO...

    Ugly shoes

I can't wear high heels or 'pretty' shoes either, have no health issues with feet but they are wide and 'awkward'. I like well fitting, comfy flats or low heel. I find Hotter OK as they do good styles and colours and are so comfy. I like toe posts in the summer but couldn't walk miles in them...

    Tan Luxe TSV 18/04/18

Well everyone just looks hideously orange and the 'before' looks better than the 'after' IMHO. Don't want to look like David Dickinson's granny, thanks.....

    Goodbye QVC

I stopped using Q about 5 years ago. I got really cheesed off when my 'passcode' suddenly didn't work online, I eventually phoned and they said they would have to issue a new User Id for me (why?). Well, two new cards arrived, each with a different number. I then ordered a box of L'Occitane...

    Joe Brown Fashion TSV 12/07/17

Joe Browns have been around for years, not really my thing but I used to work with a lady who loved it (and it suited her). Back then, they produced a small catalogue, but lately I have seen them in others (Grattan etc.) This item, to me, has the look of a 'made for QVC' about it. It has their...

Do you think they`re struggling ?

When Q reached these shores, it was something of a novelty. Quirky, sometimes funny, entertaining (and irritating), something a bit different. There was a good range of products with decent prices and plenty of variety. It was more 'homely', usually just one presenter, less shouting, less ego...

Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner TSV 14/05/17

I hate vacuum cleaner demos almost as much as food ones... Come on guys, anything can pick up seeds and crumbs - lets have some bedded-in hair from a large, double-coated dog, plus all the bits from the garden that stick to him and the dirt that flakes off his coat when he's been in a ditch :dull:

The CEW Awards Are In(luckily some QVC brands are there)

I can vouch for the Aromatherapty Associates Bath Oils - pricey but lovely, OH usually buys me a bottle at Xmas and it lasts ages. Use it when I need a de-stress!

    New Yankee Guest

Ah Tarketta - that made me stop and think! The one that springs to mind first is Evening Air which I loved. Midsummer's Night is sort of similar but, IMHO, not as nice. I like Pink Sands which I think is still current, but those 'beachy' ones - Beach Walk, Dune Grass, Drift Away, I haven't seen...

    New Yankee Guest

I just don't understand the continuing popularity of Yankee. I haven't bought them for years and my last ones burnt the jars black and were cloyingly vile after the initial burn. There are so many others out there that are far superior. Also, hate the way they do a new fragrance and it...

    Michelle Hope and Twitter

I only have a handful of friends on FB, and these are genuine friends that I know, plus family members. I don't use it much, just don't find it very interesting, none of my friends are avid users either. The occasional thing crops up that is funny/useful, or a photo (usually of dogs or...

    Cold shoulder tops /dresse.

Yes, it is a trend out there. I've recently picked up tops/jumpers in a shop thinking, 'Oh that's a nice colour/material', only to find that they are missing bits! I did try one on some time ago as it was a gorgeous jumper, and my shoulders are not my worst feature - but it looked awful and felt...
