Our local authority a few years ago planted loads across the borough. It truly is a sight to behold. My favourite spot is near the sports centre where they planted an avenue of them. You walk under it like a wedding canopy. A few weeks of bliss when they flower.

Cherry blossom is HUGE in Japan, and in my neck of the woods in West London (very popular with ex-pat Japanese) we have a lot of cherry trees. I'm looking forward to it blossoming... it's beautiful. I think of it as spring bridal.
