Amethyst and marcasite

I've mentioned this a couple of times in Rocks chat, but in my opinion the amethyst that is set in Rocks TV's marcasite jewellery is absolutely outstanding.

According to the item info it's Russian amethyst, which a quick Google search suggests is some of the best in the world. It really is the most amazing deep violet purple colour with even saturation and superb clarity - no visible inclusions whatever. It's so perfect it almost doesn't look real!

If there was such a thing as AAA amethyst, this would be it (and to be honest I actually prefer it to tanzanite, but obviously I'm a Phillistine). If this wasn't such a common gemstone, people would pay a fortune for it I reckon!

I've now seen all the amethyst and marcasite pieces (Katherine kindly e-mailed me the item numbers) and bought the ones I want. Can we have some more designs, please, Rocks?

I have to admit to not owning any amethyst:11:

I did purchase a ring from rocks in rose gold,it was what they call the blush amethyst I think, but it did not really suit my colouring so I returned it.Maybe I need the bolder and deeper colours so will look out for the Russian amethyst to try instead.

I've had Amethysts from Rocks too! In fact my Amethys collection has tripled since Rocks started, I had very little beforehand.

Amethyst is a particular love of mine as well Miss Magpie - purple has always been my favourite colour. I've bought quite a few amethyst pieces from Rocks.

The ring is particularly amazing, as it's quite a large stone.

I love that necklace,it is beautiful as are the other items you bought. I have bought matching ring and earrings with amethyst in and they are lovely too.
I think price wise and quality wise Rocks.tv are hard to beat.

I too love marcasite..I have some with blue topaz aswell as some with amethyst in.
Most of my ""very large haul"" of purchases have been marcasite from Rocks...
