I was particularly interested in the Niacinamide serum. I have some samples of the Paula's Choice one which has just launched in the UK and have been using it for a week with good results (pore size and skin texture) so it will be interesting to see how they compare.

Yes, the Paula's Choice one has added antioxidants but it costs £38 for 20ml compared to £5 for 30ml for The Ordinary one! I have other products with antioxidants in and only really wanted the niacinamide, they are both described as serums/boosters anyway and meant to be used under another product.
 
I'm interested in Advanced Retinoid 2%, but thought that 1% was was the highest concentration available without a prescription?

Isn't it retinol rather than retinoid that seems to be mostly capped at 1%? I think retinol is a form of vitamin A whereas retinoids are pre-cursars to vitamin A, so probably would be in higher %?

This is very interesting as someone with thinning hair! It also explains why he sold the Grow Gorgeous brand.

Deciem seem to be always doing something new and exciting, don't they? Clearly Brandon Truaxe doesn't like to stand still!
 
I started using my 5% CAIS around two weeks ago and I'm blown away. Checked my skin in the day light this morning (wasn't able to do it on working days as it's too dark in the mornings). I'm not sure if I can put it in words, but it does seem to turn back the clock. The skin seems clearer and took on a healthy colour. And I'm prone to blocked pores that seemed much cleared this morning. However, I don't see the overall difference in sagging or crease lines just yet, only close up evening of the skin. Lilith, have you finished your bottle and what do you think?
I've read in Victoria Health newsletter that some people now use CAIS 5% as a staple without breaking for CAIS 1%.

yep, i love it too
i got sbout 3 months use out of it
finished early september
and really missing it now

for me, it seemed to take my skin back
to the time before menopausal hormonal stuff started
seemed to take about 5 yrs off
skin looking lovely and behaving itself,
resilent and not temperamental,
a more youthful 'being at ease with itself'
and there was an impression that my skin and whole face just looked better
and it was improving a tiny bit more each week

i don't think though that it can do something for existing sagging
but i find their NEC very helpful for helping counteract the loss of elasticity

it is too expensive for me to use often, and at full price
and i don't really want my skin to get too used to it,
hence it may get less effective over time if used all the time
but if i can afford to use it once a year
and get it at a decent price
than i will jump at the chance
 
Thanks Lilith, I'm hoping that deciem can do some special prices on Black Friday or around Christmas time. Half price would be really nice.
