That Debenhams sofa bed is a dream come true for Mr Crawley. Just add an Ideal memory foam mattress and he'd have the ultimate in luxury and convenience View attachment 11523

Ha Ha :mysmilie_19:

For me Shaun Very Creepy Crawley is one of the worst 'experts' around, he is hideous.

But not quite as hideous as those Electric Bin Bag Chairs. You'd stick to them in this warm weather, don't rule out chafing :mysmilie_59:

Whatever they are flogging, they have "worked in the trade" for years. Some of them must be about 150 years old, because they've spent x number of years in this trade, x number of years in that one, depending on what's being flogged, so if you add it all up they must all have portraits in the attic that are ageing by the minute.. They really do think that the viewers are gullible enough to believe it, don't they, which says a lot about how stupid they are. They also assume nobody checks on the internet, either.
:smirk:

I think your inflatable chair comparison was bang on; describing these chairs as 'quality' and 'luxury' is nonsense on stilts. Mr Crawley has supposedly spent many years in the luxury furniture business, so he must have some idea of what constitutes real quality and luxury...I can't really see him at home, relaxing on his bonded leather chair :smirk:

Wirral, have pity, this is the man whose Grandma slept on a wooden pallet, suffering through lack of a decent mattress, whose Dad was pushed around in an orange crate on bicycle wheels because they couldn't afford a mobility scooter, and whose cousin in Outer Mongolia was forced to hitch-hike to England for a holiday because he couldn't afford a luxury cruise. Have you no sympathy for genuine distress?

:mysmilie_19: Ah, bless those poor souls.

And bless those poor souls that these stupid chairs are aimed at. Those poor souls who can't get in or out of a normal chair, who have aches and pains, who could do with new knees, new hips, new feet, new eyes, new lives.

How on earth are such poor souls meant to assemble it when it takes two delivery people to come around and dump the boxes in your living room?

Where's Shaun Crawley when you need him? :mysmilie_59:

The Regulations are still far too lenient. If they are caught saying something that's untrue, they couldn't really give a stuff, because (a) the damage is done, even if the ruling is published, (b) they've made their money anyway from all the people who have bought whatever it is on a false premise and (c) there are no penalties with "teeth" that will really hit them in the pocket and make it not financially viable to carry on doing the same. The only penalties that would hit them hard would be to be taken off-air for a period and/or hit harshly in the pocket, so that they learn it just isn't worth it. A slapped wrist does not cut it and they could not give the proverbial. Some of these so-called 'watchdog' organisations really irritate me - it just seems like jobs for the boys, as they lack any real 'clout' - they are seemingly only there to give the impression they are doing something for the consumer.

The real scandal is that the authorities allow this material to have the world 'Leather' in it's name at all, it's quite clear it's to confuse punters. Debenhams sell a Bonded Leather Sofa for £318 and they clearly state the material used in their Sofa only contains 10% Leather. Ideal World don't offer any such information regarding the composition of the material used in their items.

Debenhams also state that, like most predominantly plastic materials, you should just use a damp cloth to clean it. I doubt this would fit in with the utterly appalling Shaun & Suzy's 'luxury' narrative. But perhaps even worse Ideal World were selling Leather Cleaner to go with it.

Goons. And another thing, if these recliners/massagers are so suited to people with restricted mobility then why is it supplied self assembly that takes two couriers to deliver it :mysmilie_59:

Exactly. By the time you've probably paid someone to help you assemble it, or do it for you, plus the IW "bargain price" you've stumped up for it, you would be well out of pocket. It would be a joke if it wasn't so pathetic. I know they are there to sell, but trying to convince people that they are getting a high-quality product for a bargain price is totally not on.

What's worse? Describing those Plastic Mounds as Leather or describing Shawn Crawley as anything? :mysmilie_59:

For those who are wondering what a Shaun Crawley home makeover might look like...View attachment 11534

Luxurious. And elegant too.

And do you know, you might see similar makeovers elsewhere but it won't have the high level of design that Shaun's slum has got.

They're just not the same as Shaun's. And yes, we are incredibly busy :mysmilie_59:

That armchair looks better than the faux leather ones they are flogging :mysmilie_14:
