One of the biggest moans that we all have about QVC is the P&P, I joined Amazon Prime last year and although £49.00 may appear a lot to spend it pays you back time and time again.

FREE next day delivery, I have got my £49.00 back easy, if you look at things that you might have purchased but when you add the P&P it just isn't worth it, with Amazon Prime that isn't an issue.

I only use the vendors that offer prime and it's just a click so that is all you see.

Now the biggest shock ... I wanted to return something so they give you a label tom print out, THEN THEY REFUND THE MONEY straight away and give you 30 days to return the item.

I am a total Amazon convert click on the link below for more information:

you can also split prime between 4 friends £10 each that's what i do :)

only gripe is that its not guaranteed next day, sometimes they send first class and it can get delayed, most of time its via courier tho

I had a very heavy book POST FREE from Amazon, but it turned out to be a duplicate gift.

Went onto their site, was able to print a label to enclose with the book, and another for POST FREE return.

Noticed that anything bought from November can be returned up to 31st Jan, better than QVC!

Just signed up for the months free trial of prime - might use Amazon now as i am fed up of waiting for QVC to deliver.

love amazon. customer services is brill, usually free p&p and free returns , fast despatch and delivery, quality brands, good variety of goodies (i've even bought lepel pj's from them lovely)

Is it only me who thinks that Amazon ought to pay their ruddy taxes before they pocket my hard earned dosh?? They can afford great customer service and delivery when they're making something like 20% extra profit by dodging their UK taxes. Money that could be used to stop benefit cuts or pay for infrastructure or even mean tax cuts for all. Amazon aren't the only ones guilty of exploiting this supposed legal loophole.

Couldn't agree more Tinkerbelle.
I adored Amazon - have had Prime for over three years I think. Spend far too much on there
But I am appalled re the tax issue - their prices and service are excellent but as you say they can afford to undercut the high street and internet if they don't pay the tax - and then we are left with only one place to buy

I paid £9.99 to become an ASOS VIP giving me a year's fee next day delivery (no minimum spend). The sell lots of brands as well as their own label good, my teenage children order lot, DD ordered a dress on December 23rd (before 2pm) with guaranteed delivery on Xmas Eve and sure enough it arrived within the 1 hour delivery slot they quoted in their email. Well worth a trawl thru the list of brands they stock (several QVC brands like Nails Inc, OPI).

When it comes to P&P QVC is the dodo of the internet retailers!

I really can't get upset about Amazon's supposed tax dodging. What they are doing is perfectly legal and ethical: if we are in the damned European Union any company can choose which EU state they base their office in for fiscal purposes. Why pay more than you legally have to? When did they become charities?

The answer is to leave the EU and then we have control over which companies operate here and on what basis. Until then, all the politicians' huffing and puffing is just so much hot air to deflect from the fact that they talk the eurosceptic talk but never actually get around to delivering the promised referendum. The cynic in me assumes they are probably all eyeing up creamy EU posts when the voters are sick of them. The corruption lies with the politicians and not the companies.

Amazon has vastly improved mail order in this country and its service is almost uniformly great.

Excellent recommendation Jude, will give it a shot, thanks :)

I posted a similar thread over Christmas. All the internet retailers at present are either offering very reasonable p&p or in most cases free p&p with a free returns label too & you don't have to become a member, just take advantage of the sales if you choose. Not only that but the choice offered elsewhere apart from Q is far greater, much bigger discounts & on trend. I'm staggered at some of the so called Q sale prices & what's on offer with Q. I hardly watch them now. I've seen better bargains in their normal internet clearance or on a big skin care bundle TSV.

A lot of Well known individuals use Tax avoidance schemes,it hasn't stopped me using Starbucks either.

Well I've stopped using Amazon and Starbucks but it isn't much of a protest. I order next to nothing from Amazon anyway and I never drink coffee. Both are very concerned by my lack of custom. Not!)

They still don't pay their taxes and yes I know that this post is a 'couple' of years old and that Prime has now gone up by £30!
