Forgive me or being VERY out of date with the goss but since when did this happen?

http://www.claudiasylvester.com/about-us/index.html

I'd like to call a couple of things out, re Claudias bio.....

"Claudia's career in jewellery began back in 1994 when she joined one of the worlds leading on line retailers and moved through the organisations ranks to become their show host specialising in jewellery.* During her 16 years with the company, she had many opportunities to travel with the jewellery buying team across the world, places like Hong Kong, China, and Italy to experience the sourcing, buying and making process and bring that knowledge back to share with millions of viewers across the UK and parts of Europe."

16 years? Stretching i! Moved through the ranks to become their show host specialising in jewellery???? She was a model then a Technology guest!

"Then in 2007 Claudia was commissioned to design a gold and diamond ring for a TV launch on Gold Day 2008. The ring featured 7 diamonds that symbolised the 7 roles Claudia held in her life: daughter, sister, friend, wife, business woman, mother, aunt "

Commissioned? I think they mean asked by her employer. 7 roles? GAG!!! Aunt???????? Hilarious!!

"added to the experience of creating a vast selling item for TV using their sophisticated manufacturing that prompted Claudia’s career change where she has formed a team of world class collaborators to create her own unique and beautiful brand Claudia Sylvester"

A vast selling item? Terrible English Claudia..... I'm surprised at you. Sophisticated manufacturing? That would be mass produced in China then?

All I can say is thank god for Claudias incredible sense of good taste which she was lucky to inherit from her mother (her words not mine) as this will no doubt be a boon in her new career.

Last I heard she and her kids were living a completely fat free sugar free diet and she was sort of life coach for "pure living"???

Followed the link ... quite like the marquise ring ... £12,240 ... jumping jehosaphat! Snarly's paws will stay unadorned 'cept for Southwestern and Eeek. ;-)

Thank god for these words of wisdom from Claudias Facebook page...

"you've got to follow your passion. Figure out what it is you love, who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe the only courage anyone ever needs is the courage to follow your dreams"

Wow, thanks Claudia. I'm almost as inspired as when pope of mope Morrissey (when asked what he'd do about unemployment of manual workers) said "tell them all to get a job in the Arts".

It's very easy to have the courage to follow your dreams when you have a millionnaire husband, a house in Kensington and a nanny. Less so when you don know where th next rent/mortgage/child support payment is going to come from.

People like Claudia were born lucky. People with exquisite taste have the good manners not to ram that down people's throats.

Thanks Vamps..... I might have known you'd remember that.

That was quite a thread!!!!

I wish I could delete the junk out of my brain but I fear the hollow shell left behind would implode.

My favourite Claudia moment was her repeatedly screeching at Craig about his pronunciation of labradorite until he shrivelled up into a cowed silence. Except the gnome was correct and the banshee was wrong.

I remember her blog about her mum passing on her exquisite taste for platinum.I try to see the good in everyone and everything, but that put me right off her.

Well said BurlyBear! And as for her 'moving through the ranks to become the show host specialising in jewellery', all I remember is her trying to keep it together whilst going into fits of the giggles and being a total airhead (albeit a glamourous airhead)! She was so not cut out for presenting it wasn't true! Which is the real reason she 'had the courage to follow her dreams', that, and the obvious joy she got designing that ring - it was a successful design. Give me Julia any day presenting jewellery!!

Yes im sure most people in their forties have unfullfilled talents or dreams but as Burlybear said not so easy to jack it all in and hope the mortgage fairy will take care of things when the dream doesnt come true. Glad shes gone, I found her cold, precious and affected.

just to add one more thing to burlz's post. i haven't seen anything as ridiculous as "I believe the only courage anyone ever needs is the courage to follow your dreams" for a long time. she's presumably never needed the courage to face something real - like serious illness in herself or loved ones. silly b***h.

Spot on Janie. People like her live in a bubble and have no idea what goes on in the real world. I would hazard a guess that most people with loads of money are the same

Silly b**** indeed. What a sad stupid and affected thing to say. A very materialistic madam who has no concept of the real world !

She has had personal bereavements and maybe some of her persona is in the show must go on tradition but I do think she has a big ego and found her unpleasant viewing ie I don't do my own housework I have a housekeeper on a vacuum cleaner hour.

That incessant giggling used to drive me crazy. She was worse than Kim (& Co). Errm, well maybe not quite that bad. Her clothes when not presenting a clothes hour and being forced to wear some monstrosity, were very upmarket. She was a posh bird and in the wrong job.

I always found her updo hairdo's very dating and ageing on her. As for her remarks - a touch of the old 'Fergies' there if ever I heard one !
