Just having a look a the QVC beauty awards and to be honest in most categories I would vote for a non QVC product. So I thought I'd start a thread to see what you would all nominate from the high street against the QVC presteeggiooouss brainds. Here I my entries...

Q1: Moisturiser - Simple age resisting cream

Q2: Flawless complexion finish - I like the Halo but my high street nominee would be Clinique pore perfector

Q3: Anti-aging product (why do they include the elemis facial wash here?) - Clinique city block sheer SPF25

Q4: Hair care - John Frieda frizz ease

Q5: Eye product - Simple daily radiance eye cream

Q6: Nail care - I like nails inc colours but I'm going to go for Trilogy everything balm which is great for cuticals (and other dry bits everywhere)

Q7: Body care (do they not have enough body care products they have to include neck and throat creams?) - Boots botanics moisturising body lotion

Q8: Make up must have - Illamasqua blusher

Q9: Facial cleanser - Simple cleansing lotion

Q10: Hand care - Aveda hand remedy

Q11: COncealer - MAC studio finish

Q12: Lip product - Clarins instant light lip perfector

Q2: Flawless complexion finish - Sorry, gotta go QVC here - Halo or BE (but I get it from Ebay far cheaper!)

Q3: Anti-aging product Sunscreen (any)

Q4: Hair care - Alberto Balsum. Yes the £1 stuff. Leaves hair so shiny.

Q5: Eye product - Olay Eye Make up Remove Cream

Q6: Nail care - Sally Hansen Mirror Shine Top coat

Q7: Body care - Soap and Glory. Smells great, reasonably priced, funkily packaged and works well.

Q8: Make up must have - Bobbi Brown Gel Liner. Again - ebay or the high street though.

Q9: Facial cleanser - Body Shop Passion Fruit Cleansing Gel or Simple Cleansing Lotion.

Q10: Hand care - Soap and Glory Hand Food

Q11: Concealer - Don't really need (yes, despite my lack of "preeeeeemium skincare") lol

Q12: Lip product - Collection 2000 Love your Lips Gloss

Q1: Moisturiser - Erm, only used Hydrafloral, Skin Repair or Judith Williams for the last six years or so, all bought from QVC or initially introduced to me through them

Q2: Flawless complexion finish - Don't do make-up (don't know what a 'Flawless Complexion Finish' is, on this topic it's a case of 'no speak your lady talk' as Tony in dinnerladies would have it)

Q3: Anti-aging product - don't really subscribe to them yet other than for eyes (am only 34 and not too haggard as yet!)

Q4: Hair care - Ah, am ok here, use almost exclusively Aveda bought from local salon (and *not* first introduced to me via QVC!)

Q5: Eye product - Oh dear, my favourite category, but all from QVC or bought elsewhere after trying them through QVC i.e. Defi Lift for Eyes, Hydrotenseur, Gale Hayman, Liz Earle

Q6: Nail care - Ploughing my way through Leighton's Slick Tips, bought in Harvey Nicks (but disovered through QVC)

Q7: Body care - Virtually always Poxytanne or Liz Earle. Tried Soap and Glory but made me itch

Q8: Make up must have - I refer the honourables to the answer I gave some moments ago

Q9: Facial cleanser - Still QVC - C&P, Decleor Cleansing Cream, like the Elemis Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser at the mo

Q10: Hand care - Can't be without Poxytanne's Shea Butter Hand Cream but did for a while really like Nuxe from Boots when they sold it (again discovered via QVC though)

Q11: Concealer - see above

Q12: Lip product - used to use Kiehls but given that up since discovering (through you know where) plain Shea Butter

:eek:Oh dear having done this I see that the QVC beauty department has well and truly got me.

"Help..heeeelllppp" (visions of body being dragged by unidentifiable figure into Marco Polo House, just a single hand now visible clinging to door, disappearing as it slams shut in scene reminiscent of the bit in Ashes to Ashes finale with Jim and The Lift...)

I've rediscovered Bodyshop products and love them again, don't have to spend a fortune on 'high end' brands with extortionate P&P, my absolute favourite is their vitamin E body lotion, works better than anything I tried from QVC, not greasy, and smells lovely and keeps skin so soft.

I don't want to part with my Gatineau moisutisers, but after two weeks of the Age Benefit there is no difference, so much for the ravings of a differnce after the first use, I guess if you don't use anything you might see it, but I'm going back to defi lift.

They sucked me in for a bit as well. Even though I wouldn't necesarily buy from QVC my bathroom cupboards seemed to be full on their brands. Then after doing some reserch on ingredients/ claims/ reading labels I woke up and smelt the coffee (not the philosophy cappuccino shower gel I should say) and realised that I might actually get just as much by using a simpler regime with basic fragrance free products with a decent SPF. And so far that works for me...

Apart from QVC brands here is my literal actual list for for you (don't jump to the phones 'cos they don't sell these!)

Q1: Moisturiser - Sothy's Hydroptimale THI3 Comfort cream

Q4: Hair care - Aveda Shampure and Conditioner (used for years and still love it)

Q5: Eye product - Biotherm Aquasource eye contour cream

Q7: Body care - Sothy's Hydra Nourishing Body Lotion (divine and alternate with Decleor Body Lotion)

Q9: Facial cleanser - Phytomer Cleansing milk

Q10: Hand care - Nuxe Reve de Miel Hand & Nail cream
