Red Carpet Secrets........why bother?

I don't see the point in bashing Julia for this: QVCUK decided that they'd do a tie-in to the Oscars to shift products, and Julia was sent along.

The fact that it was a poor idea and poorly executed is not really her fault. Though I do agree her choosing to wear those sandals AGAIN with her gown was badly considered.

The QVC pre Oscars party was a pretty big and fairly star studded event. I think it's just that we Brits are the poor relation so we didn't get to see the full glory of the event.

It made the Daily Mail at least. :giggle: Colin Firth was there as well as several other Oscar nominees and eventual winners.

Oh it must be me then, cos apart from the usual array of gobby vendors, ie JR and DB, the only "star" I actually recognised was Helena Bonham Carter. All the others looked like the preening, posing and pouting bunch of -z listers from casting central !!!!!

I've decided - I AM getting old, as I usually associate the term "star" with the likes of long since passed Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, etc etc. (sorry but I dont even consider Joan Collins to be the "star" she thinks she is, glamorous yes, star no)

I thought they did quite well to get so many oscar nominees and winners at their li'l shindig, which is not to say that I recognised everybody at all. (there's a very "samey" look to many of them huh?)

And did I mention Colin Firth?! :sun:

If they'd just got him and nobody else had turned up I'd have been happy enough with that!:sun:
