We just bought a bog standard LG tv for around the £220 mark and I get a good picture. That is all I want from a tv so paying £800+ for a huge tv that's also a potential security risk is not on.

i love a nice tv but you have to do a lot of homework. i have a 47 inch panasonic 3d smart tv that was £1600 when it was launched. you can now get it for under £800. fab picture and the 3d is out of this world. watched life of pi and that was an experience i will never forget.

the rub though is the glases are £40-£50 a pair.

re smart tv annoyed that u tube are being irritating about watching content on smart tv via u tube.
