If you are not into an iPad then I personally would recommended the Google Nexus, a superb tablet

Expect QVC will better the price but if it's a small saving in my opinion give Amazon a try

Tech Radar gave a cr*p review of an Arnova tablet. I really don't know why QVC seem hellbent on selling "sub-prime" tablets like Prestigio & Arnova.

Think this is the way to go Graham. Proud of you, and your site, you're being remarkably strong

if you are interested in the arinova a 13" why would you want to get a small 7" nexus, not sure there is a 13" comparable tablet ?

trust me i wont!

From the presentations this looks a pretty rubbish buy again. No idea why they keep pushing these cheap quality tablets ( not cheaply priced thou) when all the presenters continue to use I pads

I don't understand why they keep banging on about arnova being part of "the archos family". If they want to associate it with archos why create a new brand name? If they don't want to associate with archos then why keep mentioning it?

Its probably coz they think more people will order it if its associated with a well known brand like Archos, and after the shambles of there last TSV tablet they need all the help they can get

I agree but I and I would also add the new Kindle,as well as Samsung Galaxy tablet. You can keep the rest.

Surely the point of a tablet is that it is smaller and more portable than a laptop? Why would anyone want a 13" tablet, when one can buy a 13" laptop for less money? Seems like a contradiction in terms to me. I know Arnova is the budget market of the archos brand, but I think they are using the screen size as a selling point to disguise any possible negatives / lack of quality the device has. I don't like archos products so I dread to think how disappointed I would be with a cheaper model from the same brand.

I had both the kindle fire HD and the nexus 7. I returned the kindle and am still in love with the Nexus 7.

I went for the Nexus instead of Kindle Fire HD after reading various reviews/comparisons in mags like Stuff and T3 and very happy with it, though only scratched the surface of its capabilities so far being a bit of a technophobe.
Well, I say I went for it, but OH actually bought it for me for Xmas.

For Xmas 2011 I bought him one of the Archos TSVs and he has been very happy with it. Does what he wants and he has never had any problems with it.

OH bought a Samsung Galaxy from John Lewis online on Thursday night - at about 10.30 - and asked for it to be delievered to our local Waitrose. He got a text on Friday morning at 9.15 to say it was in store ready for collection. He's been playing with it all afternoon. He is outside with it now making the most of the clear skies and the newly loaded Sky at Night app that outlines all the constellations etc.

I'm really like my Kindle Fire HD. The sound quality of the Dolby speaker (built in) is the best out of all the tablets. This has been commented on in many reviews. I use the Tune In radio app alot and it's a joy to listen to Classic FM and my other new favourite Sky FM Romantica (lots of Andrea Bocelli etc).

I bought a 6 month subscription to Love Film on an Amazon Black Friday deal for £16 and the HD quality is excellent. It's also great with BBC iPlayer.

I don't use lots of apps and stick to about 6-7 of them which are regularly used so it doesn't bother me that the Kindle App Store doesn't have as many apps as Googe play or iTunes. I still buy my music from iTunes via my iPhone 5 or my MacBook Pro.

The Kindle Fire HD is more portable than the iPad which is why I sold mine as it wasn't getting the use. I do like the iPad Mini but at the moment the Kindle Fire HD specs are better and its £100 cheaper. I might get an iPad mini when the 2nd generation one is launched (probably later this year) as it will be an improved version, as they usually are. The only reason I would is that there are apps I use for work that aren't available on Android etc and although I use them on my iPhone I do need my glasses on to read the small text. But I'm happy to wait and see. Otherwise my Kindle Fire HD does its job really well.
