Can you believe this? right i ordered a Rubellite ring and TP earrings they arrived and were both faulty (chipped and scratched) so i called cs and said i wanted them replaced and was told i would have to wait for the return to be processed before they would ship replacements, so i decided i couldn't wait so i ordered and paid again and returned the original order on 13th!
On 19th i checked my order history to see if there was any sign of my refund well it was there as R-unknown (as normal) but now there was a duplicate order there as awaiting dispatch? :confused2: so i called cs and was told they thought i wanted a replacement (even though if they had looked they could see i had already re-ordered it!) no problem they will cancel the order, i kept checking daily and eventually on 23rd it changed from awaiting dispatch to R-Unknow so i awaited my refunded to my CREDIT CARD but it didn't appear and would you believe it appeared in my bank account! WHAT!:11:
So i called cs and explained i had paid with my MINT CREDIT CARD and had been refunded to my BANK VISA CARD after speaking to her manager i was told this was impossible as it is always refunded to the card you paid on, well i knew that that is why i am asking what had happened :angry: i was then told to send in statements of my 2 accounts (prove it was the impression i got)!:devil:
So they hadn't a clue basically! :headbang:Then the penny dropped and i realised what had happened...............i ordered on my CREDIT CARD then ordered the replacement on my DEBIT CARD as they refunded the original order but hadn't refunded the money as they had set up a new order to replace it the card details for the original order were closed so as gems only hold 1 set of card details on their system they now only had my debit card details from my most resent replacement order, so as they had closed the details on the cock up order they then look at my card details held on the system and refund (not realising it was a different card!)
What a palaver i would mind but i had to return the 2nd Rubellite as well !:sad:

Gosh what a ramble hope it all made sense! :confused2: if not at least i feel better for getting it all off my chest :wink2:, the funny thing was i rang up about something else and just thought i'd ask them while i was on the phone :giggle:
 
Oh dear Cherub! Where are the days where returns were straightforward, often turned around within 48 hrs of them receiving the items back, and you didn't even have to check because you knew it was all OK?
 
I had a palaver with a replacement too last week, they told me on the phone it would take couple of days.....not!! I didn't risk to order it again, the price was also higher now and with a little regret I cancelled the replacement ring and still awaiting a refund.
This probably puts me off to buy from them for another year or so, when we get all hyped up on ST and start posting great buys, just like what happened last month lol
 
what i was cheesed off about, returning my ring, i was told it could be sent to have the stone replaced, as i couldnt have a replacement ring sent out, as they were out of stock! well 2 days after my conversation with cs, and returning the ring, went on website, and guess what? there it was, a ring, which could have been used to replace the lost stone ring! :headbang::angry:

I thought i would let you know, I kept threatening to jump ship, and I can safely say, that I have - I ordered from the company i was wittering on about. I used my refund from gems to pay for the ring I ordered, I got a beautiful Tanzanite, I ordered on Tuesday 1st September, and it arrived yesterday (2nd) at 1.00pm!! I didnt have to pay the £4.90 special delivery, the ring arrived in a lovely box, in a padded envelope - and the ring is beautiful! I keep opening the box and having a look, i cannot believe how beautiful it is, and i was so worried about going to another company, wondering what the service would be like etc. Their Customer Services are brillaint. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend the company, if you go back to some of my posts you will see me name them, but i wont in this. Just thought i would let you know, this persian rat has jumped ship, and because of all the disappointment in my rings loosing stones, and other problems, which i personally confess i couldnt be bothered with the faffing around, sending parcels back etc, i didnt tell gems cs, consequently, i ended up getting more and more miffed, plus the fact when i have shopped via the tv auctions, i do not get the buzz or the thrill that i used to - and nothing has really knocked me off my feet since i last bought a ring and that was when craig was with them! any way, i feel that as i have jumped ship, i have no rights to stick my oar in and make comments about gems any more - as i wont be buying from them any longer. Just wanted to say thank you to you and wish you all happy gem buying for the future. Lots of love, the persian bagpuss xxxxx:sad::heartbroke::rain:

Hi PG really pleased for you that you've got something beautiful that you love.

Just because you don't buy from them anymore doesn't mean you can't comment. You are perfectly entitled to give your opinion. Look at me I don't buy from Gems or Rocks & Co but still have plenty to say about them and feel I have every right to do this. I spent a lot of money with both companies in the past and feel in my capacity as a former very disgruntled customer I have earned the right to air my views. On top of that, I feel I should share my observations with others and new buyers who may be about to part with their cash to warn them of the pitfalls.

So, be a big mouth like me and keep posting if ever you feel the desire!


ps I'm away to look for the name of that company now :tongue2:

PG - I agree with Klos. I haven't shopped with Ideal World or QVC for yonks now (some years in fact), but it ain't stopped me putting in my tuppence worth from time to time. xxxxxxxxx

PS If you become a VIP member there's a bling section there where you could post about G*m*n*o and anyone else for that matter.

Thank you Mathilda xxx i feel like a besotted jackdaw, keep sneaking looks at it, and putting it on my finger, taking the ring out into the sunlight (when it decided to pop out for all of 10 mins) and keep showing it to my husband - I keep saying look at the sparkle - well you get more response out of a budgie when he is sat in front of the tv - but yep, it has really cheered me up! xx
