New Presenters- Not impressed

Just flicked on to TJC to see "Leah" the new girl presenting, Terrible isn't the word! Shouty over the top voice and market stall selling approach. I had the misfortune to tune into see her presenting last night, equally as bad and wearing a top that didn't remotely fit where it toucheduke: Someone in wardrobe needs a word in her ear, had me wondering what channel i had tuned into!!

Hi Tabs, I really agree with you. The first time she was on I could only watch for a few minutes. I also had the misfortune of tuning in when she was wearing, or not wearing that top. Think she is much more suited to presenting on Gems!
Even with a top that fits, I will definately not be watching when she is on. Dreadful!:whew:

I have to say that I agree with you as well. I don't like to trash presenters but she needs to tone it down and dress more conservatively. Perhaps she will settle in over the next few weeks and refine her dress sense and sales pitch, let's hope!

The thing that annoys me the most is her "champagne glass" act..... It's unnecessary and highly annoying, and it seems to go on for longer and longer each time she does it.

Sorry... Her surnames "charles" I think. There's lots in google about her. I think she's more a personality lead presenter rather than a confirmed telly shopping style.

I've been reading these forums for years but felt I should put in a positive word for the new addition to tjc.

I've always loved Leah as a presenter from her days on Big Game TV and also my kids used to watch her on Childrens ITV and the Disney Channel growing up.

She is a very accomplished presenter - just google her! I for one is very glad she is on TJC as she adds some interest to the usual same looking and same sounding bunch! At least Leah is down to earth and seems to get alot of positive text messages from the viewers whenever I watch her.
I like the fact she doesn't take herself too seriously and is actually being very tongue and cheek when you listen to her.
However she may not be to everyone's tastes but I think she's a breath of fresh air and you should give her a chance!

I caught the other new girl Laura the other night and she was quite sweet too but the same old middle class blonde - and that's coming from me!!

Lol- just had a peep PC and she's described as actress/voiceover. Voiceover for who/what? xxxxxxxxxxxx

She does lots of tv music ads! I've heard her several times. But I think she was achild actress. I've never seen her in anything recently. I read somewhere she recently won an award for her contributions in presenting / producing whilst also being a mentor for young people in care. I think she's quite the activist for good causes! Lol

She is a truly terrible presenter, saw an old boy presenting yesterday afternoon, nothing wrong with that but he was just as bad if not worse than Ms Charles.

We don't hate her what a stupid thing to say, I personally do not think she is suited to shopping telly. If someone puts themselves on national television they have to take the good and bad comments, if she can't then she is in the wrong industry!

I wasn't talking rubbish - just fact. Surely you don't believe that sort of language is acceptable? If it's because you don't believe me take it up with TJC. It was around 12.30 on the emerald day last week (Wednesday?).

CC welcome to the forum but I was surprised at the tone of this post, as you are a new member I obviously know absolutely nothing about you so it may be that this is either your sense of humour or the way you usually phrase things but to me this comes across as a little confrontational and aggressive. Everyone, including you is entitled to express their opinion but we should remember not to make comments that because they can't be heard could be misunderstood.

Another new presenter on right now: Laura Schofield. Ex ShoppingTV.com and Smart Live Casino. Not bad compared to most of the new presenters, to be fair.

Laura also does the B Makowsky handbags on QVC (or did do once upon a time, took over from Lottie who was on TJC before and is now on IW/C & C).
