Agreed. Here's one example, where a very simple web search shows that Gemporia is quite expensive, particularly at the modest end of its offering.

They dint really cut out the middlemen these days anyway - they seem to buy most of their gemstones from trade fairs.

That's on the rare occasion they buy something other than Jadeite or Agate!
