You havent answerd anything we dont already know, and actually u have said that Denice can be difficult to work with so ur hardly being professional uve made a personal comment about her which in u earlier posts said u wouldnt do.

Hes done wot he set out to do, which is to get people talking about IW on here as nobody bothers.

You think our comments are b.......! If you were still employed by IW you would not be posting. Don't know why you are now. To put us out of our misery or to enlighten? Gee thanks.

I have nothing to prove or disprove.
I seriously just stumbled across the forum and saw a lot of speculation and false information on a subject I know all about. I just wanted to help and shed a little light onto things.

Plus, I've never known a PR person to be doing this kind of thing at 22:11 on a Sunday night.
Just makes no sense what so ever.
I said in the first post what kind of questions I'd answer. Disclosing presenter salaries and their sales figures were not on there! Above this, I was a floor manager, not the presenters managers. Why would I know this? I'm sure none of you are aware of all your colleagues salaries, let alone your managers etc.

Some have used me to answer questions on demos and the general workings of ideal world and that's what I set out to do.

Not true as in education - people' s salaries are based on criteria and pay scales. True for the industry you work in. We rarely get to hear the salaries of the Big players at the BBC unless there is a scandal.

Do presenters get a say in which shows they present?

No they don't. All staff schedules are created by their department managers. Floor managers, directors, producers and technical operators all have their own separate managers who schedule them in. However presenters are carefully put on shows that they will be interested in where possible. Unless there's a major staffing issue, you wouldn't normally find Howard presenting a slim wear POD launch etc!

P.s, thank you for using this for what I intended it for. Anything else please ask :)

Your earlier post was passive aggressive.

cynical
speculation of the absolute bollocks a lot of you seem to talk about constantly
But it just shows the nature of some
Disgusting

In my industry, television, it's all very secret. Plus Loen, Andy, Dave and one or two others are freelance, so therefore, even fewer people will know what they earn.

Funnily enough, I'm enfuriated that I come on here to help , which many appreciate. Yet some are just like "fake! Pr stunt" . No. No it's not. Just like karcher demos are fake. No they aren't. You have no idea quite how much ASA are on Ideal Worlds back. It's the most regulated form of tevision, as well as method of shopping. Each show has over a 150 page document of what can and can't be said, who can say what, for how long and in what context. Demos are thought out by a specialist team to not only be creative but source material for demos, and if they can't source it, how they can recreate it.
Risk assessments are written for every demo and product. Tv costs thousands per hour. They can't ruin all of that time and money by lying. ASA would have them shut down instantly.

Thanks for the information. I always thought the floor / camera crew ate all the food after food shows, bet it's awful for them if they are hungry and have to throw all the goodies away.

The demo's - I always suspected that it was a 'contrived' background dirt on the cream carpets - although I love my bissells and know they tackle most things well.

What is used to simulate baked on grease on cookware etc - is that a concoction of gravy browning and oil?

and what about hair shows - do the products really give body to the hair or is the models hair left stiff as a board after all the gunk is put on?

ooh, I love all this type of background info, thanks so much.

Hurrah! Someone else who gets why I'm here and isn't into "gossip". Food wise, everyone has a sneaky nibble, but its very much frowned upon. The risk assessment just doesn't cover it. It literally says "food can only be consumed between 10:01am and 10:57am".

Demos! The bissel does do a good job. I wouldn't want to try and get gravy browning out my carpet, so it still impresses me. I suppose they haven't yet found a more realistic way to simulate overly used carpet and the wear from traffic. They do however do demos in corridors of ideal world where all workers use it, including warehouse staff with dirty boots.

The same as bissel, gravy browning is used to dirty the hob for polti demos. However, when they clean the oven in the kitchen set, that is all real as that oven is regularly used.

Hair shows are dependant on the product. Kyle kain seems to be able to make any product look good. Haha. Speaking to the models, most of them feel the products are quite good. Most don't like the eyesential as they find it uncomfortable.

Hope this answers your questions. Anything else, please ask :)

How come u dont remember the model Julie wilkinson or the beauty therapist Mandy Penalver , they both did eyesential shows and both were on air for many years

Thank you Ooh, I have another query, when before and after pictures are taken, ie beauty shows, is the lighting set slightly different because it looks like it sometimes, looking at the background or is that a fluke of the film capture? or shouldn't I ask that

(The eyesesential - yuck)

I never floored beauty shows. I did a lot of craft and technical shows.

I'm finding the use of robot cameras on QVC reall difficult as they never seem to able to focus on what is being spoken about and by the time they do the guest or presenter has just put it down. I've always thought Ideal World have had better camera work anyway but do they plan to start using robot cameras?
