So Rob locke is now telling us, what computer manufacturers won't tell us, that most computers out there are far to powerful for basic needs. for the majority of folks, the Coda is powerful enough for email, office, social media, watching videos etc etc, oh and expensive doesn't mean better quality, so get the CODA.

Ok got you Rob, now go and tell all your fellow colleagues at IW to ditch their Iphones, Ipads, Imacs etc (cause they all seem to have them according to the presenters) and tell them to buy Coda, RCA, Alacatel or STK, if you guys practiced what you preach then you might be taken seriously, but as you lot are a bunch of lying hypocrites then you should keep your advice as to what's best for others to yourself.

Ah well if you are reading here, take note just for starters.

When presenters make erroneous claims on TV, then you will be brought up on it. Every little error you make, whether accidental or deliberate, sometimes it'll just be posts here other times it will be officially through ASA, like Ballast.:wink:
 
Haven't had the misfortune to have seen Rob Locke for a long long time.

When he was on QVC, he seemed to have purchased every product that he'd ever demonstrated.

Well either he or someone from Ideal world has been reading the posts here, cause the exclusivity issue came up along with specific stuff from two of my posts this afternoon on Ideal world, he explained he's part Scottish in regards to my comment on him putting on a Scottish accent. He also explained he was a technophobe for many years, that was in response to post 8601, which I kinda thinks he's misunderstood the point, ie it wasn't questioning what he was saying about the product and it's uses, but the fact that when presenting these shows the presenters all gush about these lower priced tech stuff, STK, Alcatel, Energizer etc (you know the phones that have all the functions anybody needs, so why buy the expensive brands) and how suitable they are for most uses and great buys for us, but when it comes to the crunch, the presenters themselves don't buy them, they buy the, as he termed "expensive doesn't mean better quality" stuff, ie Iphones etc, going by recent Iphone7 shows, everybody working at IW seems to own one.:mysmilie_19: Although Peter V also needs to corrected on some stuff, I'll give him credit that he did buy a Wileyfox.

Well at least we now know IW are reading the posts here, but whether they will take onboard when we point out their errors is anybody's guess.:mysmilie_11:

It's so depressing to think people will fall for the guff and buy something like that Coda laptop. A complete and utter waste of money.

You just know that within twelve months they will be complaining to whoever they know to be tech savvy, that their computer is taking ages to boot up and is really slow at doing everything.
 
Well I've heard even more guff! And this time it's the ceramic heaters....They're now telling you to switch your central heating off and use one of the heaters instead, as by having central heating on you're heating rooms that you're not in. What's wrong with switching off the radiators that in the rooms you're not using...Surely that's gonna save some energy and money! Don't know why you'd want to spend nearly £300 on a heater when you've got central heating....weird!
 
You could spend that £300 on something like the Tado, where you can buy smart radiator thermostats for each radiator and control it all via an app. Much better than a ceramic heater and total control of each room you heat.
 
It’s just a load of waffle they are spouting.

The guy says, I’m not knocking central heating, then, goes on the knock it.

This “you’re heating the whole house with central heating” is nonsense, as has already been said, radiators have had manually controlled thermostatic valves for decades, and in recent years electronically controlled.

They were also speaking about the time it takes for central heating to heat a room on a cold morning, thing is although a Ceramic heater, may get up to it’s temperature quicker than a Radiator, but you’re only speaking of a few minutes, it’ll still take time (as it’s radiated heat) to heat a room.

As for their experiment, it’s a studio experiment; all they are doing is taking the temperature of a ceramic core internally and the external surface of the ceramic panel, they are not actually taking any temperatures at a distance (say three or four feet away) to show how it will heat a room and the time it will take to heat that room, it’s very, very misleading.

I’m also baffled by the times different things seem to heat up in their homes, takes 15-20 minutes for a radiator to get hot, really, mine are hot in 5 minutes (of course room takes longer, but will be same for ceramic heaters). It takes 20 minutes (one of their staff’s oven even takes 25 mins) to pre heat your oven, again really, mine is up to temperature in a couple of minutes.

They've already started, can't remember who it was but it was one of the early shows for this heater, and it was said that long range forecast is for one of the coldest winters on records.
 
I just wish Ideal would stop giving these ridiculous and pointless ceramic radiator demonstrations. A 2 kilowatt electric heater is just that, those demos are just to convince people that because it's ceramic, it somehow magically more efficient than any other type. These demos are simply there to deceive any potential customer, and to spend much more money than they need to!

Nothing new there then!!!!!

Ideal World presenter just saying to the My Equity Release Expert that they are trustworthy, they have excellent Trustpilot score and revues, does that mean that with Ideal World's Trustpilot score and revues being rock bottom they are untrustworthy? :mysmilie_19:

And just mentioned trustpilot again, "Trustpilot rate them as excellent, you need to trust the advice you’re given", come on, if you're putting so much credence in Trustpilot, why not tell viewers that Ideal world's rating is BAD.

Really got to hand it to them, they are really upping the stakes on these watches, high end luxury, made in China with the cheapest Japanese quartz movements in them, Shaun would expect to pay twice as much (would make it £318) for a watch with a £5 movement in it.

Ideal seems to specialise in finding obscure watch brands to foist on it's unexpecting customers, instead of selling well known makes. People can find out how much a famous brand costs, with these mickey mouse brands they have an opportunity to charge an exorbitant price for a piece of cheap tat! Such as the Swan And Edgar offerings for example.

You are totally right there! Not only that, those big bulky watches are hideous..I guess there are people who like them and think 'cause they're big and flashy that they'll look classy and expensive....Far from it..they look cheap and ridiculous. I know Rolex sell some pretty hideous chunky watches and charge hideous chunky prices, then you see someone rummaging through the bargain bin down Asda with one on their wrist and you'd be forgiven for thinking it's a fake! I guess one could argue that they're reduced to rummaging through bargain bins 'cause they spent everything they had, put themselves into huge debt to buy the geniune article...But what are you going to do? Spend £50-£100 maybe more on a fake Rolex....you know it's fake, and a basic cheapo watch, but someone might think it's real, or you just want the look without the price tag...or spend £200-£300 on an IW non-entity watch that's nowhere near worth the amount you paid?...and absolutely no chance of anyone thinking you're wearing anything remotely classy or expensive. Better still think about the style you like, the lifestyle you lead and find yourself a decent watch from a reputable brand, in a style you like with a price that's within your budget. Trouble is, is that a lot of these crapola offerings won't be bought by the person who's gonna be wearing them...It'll be a present from a well meaning relative who's been taken in by all the lies and hype..ggrrr!
 
It seems Joanne is struggling to find anything to say about a genuinely hideous Faux Fur Coat. She’s instead rambling on about some signs on lampposts she has seen that are asking for help to find missing animals.

I mean, we all know that Joanne likes to talk about anything other than the tatt she’s shilling but missing animals?
