He went through a bit explaining shopping TV, how long he's been doing it and how long IW has been around and the problems with IW and the 2 month break before someone bought it up. Without naming names or details. He said you could look it up on the web.

I heard that bit and it was very misleading the way he described it, made it sound like someone had rescued and bought company and brought Ideal World back when in reality it's only the IW Tradename/Trademark that was bought (okay they bought some cameras/and a freeview slot) but Ideal World the company he worked for is dead and buried, he may work on a channel named Ideal World, but he doesn't work for Ideal World anymore, he works for and is paid by Shop TJC.

They have the Ideal World logo and the channel number and the website address. That’s it, isn’t it? They certainly don’t have the creditors and the out of pocket in general. Oh, and a few presenters from the old channel who were on holiday for a few weeks. It’s like sticking a Ford badge on a Vauxhall and claiming it’s a Ford Astra…

And some of the broadcasting equipment, like cameras etc, which teh adminstrators were flogging off to pay creitors. At the moment the picture quality is poor, they are broadcasting on sky 668 in SD, i'm assuming the cameras from IW were HD so channel may improve the quality of the picture from the new studios when they are ready.

Not particularly ethical, but so many dodgy company/directors close the company down and transfer/sell the assets to the new company for a pittance and restart doing the same thing as a different company name, thereby avoiding the creditors of the old company.
Remember the dodgy double glazing, plumbing, car sales and builders featured on Watchdog, and Can't Pay Won't Pay where they go in and the previous company has ceased trading and the same people are running the same business out of the same premises, under a slightly different name, denying responsibility for their work or responsibility to former customers in rectifying anything and denying any refunds!
Effectively, the old IW is similar, in adminstration with assets set up under a different company. But not by the same organisation or people. A bit different and more ethical.
How much did Shop TJC pay for IW assets and wonder what the final balance sheet of the IW in administration is and whether it is able to pay any of its creditors.
