I assume the ASA lets them quote the £10,000 RRP because the manufacturer has it on its website for that price? How many have they actually sold for that price on the manufacturer’s website is another matter. Although on checking, the ASA has found against the Channel on a number occasions on how they have tried to sell this product in terms of presenters making unsubstantiated and unqualified medical claims for it on what it can do for the benefit of the skin.
 
My sister was diagnosed with Blepharitis earlier this year diagnosed at the Eye Hospital so I gave her my heated Peep Club eye wand that I had bought as my optician told me I had dry eyes and I thought it would be more pleasant than the eye drops he suggested. When she went back to the eye hospital they were flabbergasted at the difference using the wand had made , not having heard of it and said they would be recommending it to other patients if applicable. It is cheaper than the gadgets on TJC but it has the red light and heat so while I agree the gadgets on TJC are overpriced I do think red light therapy has a place in healing conditions. I paid £65 when I bought it.

I love these, I’ve seen some corkers in my time, but didn’t think to post them on here. Definitely English was not their first language. I did complain once, along the lines of ‘the description of the products should be brief and accurate, not purple prose’. Didn’t receive a response 🤣
 
Forum was mentioned last night around midnight by two of the presenters. One said words to the effect that she didn’t read it to avoid reading something she’d dwell on for weeks and the Canadian bloke said it was water off a duck’s back to him. They both agreed it was the new Ideal World venture that was getting most of the ‘stick’ at present. You wonder why that would be when a shopping channel is launched with plastic canes and cheap batteries as key launch products..

Except the batteries I've seen for sale on IW/TJC aren't cheap, are they?

Poundland used to sell alkaline AAA/AAs in 4 or more packs for, errr, £1. So 24 batteries would be about £6 down Poundland.†

So £16 + p&p of £2.99 ain't no bargain, 'innit?

†prices as of months/year+ ago when I last visited a Poundland, not for ages!

The Canadian bloke is in my opinion really really obnoxious. He is clearly someone who was born into a rich and privileged family - but when he is on air saying things like he sprays William Hunt as air fresher - when TJC try to sell this as their most high end perfume for men (and it is lovely) it sticks in my throat. If he was personally so successful let,s be honest he probably would not have needed to return to TJC to boost his own business!!!

Hi @Marietta ! Thanks for the reply. Don't worry, never considered buying a DGamages watch, was probably just a heads-up in August while we were discussing the ridiculous overblown watch selling sales tactics, if anyone wanted to watch it. The look of one or two was ok, but I'm not overpaying for a basic automatic watch.

I bought far cheaper dress automatic open heart movement Genoa from TJC for £20 a while back. Their Genoa & Strada watch brands from Japan/China are far better value than Gam/Swan&E, 'brands', etc., imho, for a basic quartz or automatic, if you need a basic, cheap, functional watch.

e.g. My Strada date/time everyday watch cost me £4 from TJC on discount/free p&p and looks like a far better quality divers watch (it isn't) than it cost!

It tells the time, has the date window at 4 o'clock position, a stainless steel decent case, silicon strap and the second hand aligns with the batons as it moves. (A regular peeve of Ben and other watch enthusiasts).

Oh, and it keeps excellent time. I suspect a cheap Miyota or other Japanese movement (printed Japan movement at 6oclock).

That's quality/value.

Thanks for the reply Phaedrus. I too bought a couple of cheap Strada watches and find them okay for everyday wear. They're probably as good as the expensive ones!
 
TJC are selling a couple of Leighton Denny EDP's for £7.99 a bottle at the moment. Great value as I usually get a bottle for my friend for either birthday or Christmas and I usually pay about £30.00.
I've ordered two of each variety anyway and only paid a few pounds that I would normally pay for one bottle.

Flicking through the channels yesterday stumbled upon Mark presenting - he can really look unkempt with his hair, clothing and trainers (in comparison to the other presenters ) He really should wear anything black covered in what looked like dandruff … he seemed a bit tired (from the Christmas party ?) and a bit snarky …

I have said this for a long long time I think it's arrogance on his part as his thinking is he's trendy! The clothes are mostly past their best and quite tatty! How he gets away with what does is beyond me but I think him and Chloe can do no wrong in the management's eyes.
 
so I was looking at something gold a couple of days back for 400 and thought it was fantastic value and I could sell it on and make a profit. Now coming from birmingham I would never buy jewellery for myself as we have the JQ !! However how much can I trust the value here, with the send back period can take the risk of course but anyone got some experiences on this ?

I keep thinking the TJC silver chains and gold are good value. Then I search online and find various price comparisons that suggests their prices are reasonable, but average and other jewellers/ specialists are selling the same thing, same Carat/weight, for maybe 20% less, or greater discounts.

And this applies to their "close-out", Hatton garden, clearance lines, etc. Reasonable, but no great shakes.

I think some of their gems, gemstones and rings/jewellery may be better value.
