I'm not sure it is plated? Think the steel is 'highly polished'...may be wrong though.

Don't they say that with the steel versions, it is gold/silver "tone", i.e. not plated as with the regular sterling silver pieces?

I think that's right. Wonder if it will discolour..? Regardless, looks a bit ****, so i won't buy. Must cost sweeties to produce.

I bought a stainless steel necklace at a craft market in a small seaside village in France a few years ago. The lady on the stall had made the jewellery and each piece was unique. It is a triangle shape drop and the centre has tiny white cz's encrusted on it.
It only cost about 10e and hasn't gone dull at all. Mind you it wasn't a piece of QVC jewellery.
