Crikey I remember Old Mother Riley black and white films and her daughter Kitty. How Old Mother used to throw her hands in the air and flounce her apron at the same time. There used to be an elderly lady who lived near us when I was a child and she was the spitting image of OMR even though the original actor was actually male.

When I was a young child, we had a Saturday Roy Rogers club at the local Curzon. Strangely, we never got Roy Rogers' films but Old Mother Riley and Oliver and Hardy a lot.

I remember a piece in the DM about old mother Riley the other year. His name was Arthur something, Kitty made his life hell cheating a lot and heavy drinking.
