As I was curious I did a bit of digging around on the 'net.
According to the Cambridge dictionary you do pronounce the 't' at the end.
The word comes from the Italian 'bergamotto'.
In French it is 'bergamote', so the 't' would still be pronounced as it is followed by an 'e'.
I suspect we all have words which we mispronounce for various reasons, however if you are selling on TV, I do think you should make the effort to check pronunciation of key words. Regional variations on the other hand are ok.
