All beautiful rings i would be spoilt for choice, my best buy has to be my 0.75ct ceylon sapphire in white gold, only paid £99 for it, will get a pic and post it up soon:D

I'm not a yellow gold girl, but when this one appeared on the web last November I grabbed it for £66 - it must've been a delayed return with that number, or lost at the back of the stock cupboard. It's not the most intense paraiba colour I have, and it's only little, but it shimmers its little socks off, it's my bit of Brazilian paraiba and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

Well I'm afraid I missed out on all those Brazilian paraiba, AAAA tanzy and Russian alex bargains too. By the time I got in, the BP was gone and the RA / AAAA was very expensive - at that point, I hadn't really got to grips with the idea of just buying jewellery costing into three figures! So I didn't end up with any RA, boohoo, and my Indian, though lovely, doesn't change colour. I also ended up buying elsewhere for my solitary premium tanzy, which I do adore.
So my best gems bargain comes from the lower end of the scale! I would have to say I think it's this one:

At £23 ex demo, that's a lot of silver and gemstone for your money!

Original Paraiba tourmaline for £66 is a brilliant bargain Pimms, such a rarity these days and bound to be an investment. Your watch is amazing for the amount of gems and silver in it Anne C, pure quality :). Can't wait to see a piccy of your Ceylon Sapphire, rebbecap. Haven't seen any Ceylon sapphire for ages.

Thanks for this thread Huggles, it's great to see some lovely pieces posted again as I do adore a good drool!

Oh Mad one, your AAAA pendant is truly lovely, I had one of them home and half the stone was was practically clear so it had to go back, but the setting really did look so much better IRL and I'm delighted you got a stunner!

Sadly I returned my RA ring as there was no colour change, but wish I'd kept it just to say I had some.

Nic, that ring is sooooo lush yum!

I wasn't in at the very beginning, but when NTL got Gemstv, unlike so many former fans I was usually very disappointed with the difference between what was pictured (TV or web) so kept very little. I was stalking the AAAA Tanzanite and was gutted that after they kept coming down a bit at a time, they all doubled overnight and as most were a couple of grand it wasn't just a few quid!

This appeared some time later (this was end of 2006) back near it's lower price and I even let it go around the web once but decided if it was still not sold the second time, it was meant for me and I'd grab it - and I did - in the last 20 seconds!

It was £2591.00, but with a 10% voucher I paid £2331.90 as I'd had an insurance policy mature and it's the most I've ever paid and probably ever will.

It is much deeper and richer looking IRL, but true to form, one of the diamonds is very cloudy  and I suspect that's why it didn't sell originally (it put me off too when there was loads of choice) and I intend to replace it in the future.

I love any chance to show it off!

There's actually a similar carat weight old stock oval one renamed as Majestic on the web right now for just over £3k, I remember it well as it was on my shortlist and it's like seeing an old friend again , although I never saw it IRL. You can tell it's old from the writing on the vid!

Here it is with the old number and still has AAAA further down the description!

Am I sad or what? :scarper:

Gorgeous stuff everyone.:)

I haven't bought anything expensive from Gems, the most I've spent is £200 but that went back because it was flawed.

Haven't bought anything new for well over a year!

Here are a few of the things I love though

Ooh this is hard cos I bought some lovely pieces in the early days before the prices went sky high and the standards plummeted. If I had to choose just one it would have to be this heart http://www.gemstv.co.uk/Shop/productDataSheet.jsp?productid=UXQ6691&menuselection=3&colourScheme=1 cut AAAA tanzy because of the rare cut and the outstanding depth of colour, there was only ever one and I was lucky enough to get it the only time it was aired. It wasn't cheap enough to call it a bargain in monetary terms but it would probably be double what I paid for it if they auctioned it now. :pPC:

Lynda, that AAAA tanzanite is huge. I'm not suprised you wanted to show it off, only a wee bit surprised it's lying on a paper
towel :D, who cares, it's a beautiful gem and would look spectacular on anything. Waterlilly you have a gorgeous collection, all very delicate and feminine...goes very well with your user name and avatar. As for you Pinkpussycat...I'm speechless . That is possibly the most gorgeous ring I have ever seen. I've no idea how much you paid but whatever it was it was worth it :).

I wondered when the AAAA tanzy heart would appear - I think that's the best buy anyone ever got from Gems

I only chose the paper towel, 'cos I could position it better as it slid around too much on the worktop or table!

Sue that heart cut AAAA is so definitely the dog's wotsits :faints:. I seem to recall a trilliant cut hiding out at chez PPC too, do I not?

So many lovely pieces. Keep 'em coming everyone please?

Don't fret chuck, I also find that nothing shows off the sparkle on a two and a half grand piece of tanzy quite like Bounty :p:D

I've just laughed out so loud it made the dog jump out of her skin and probably woken the neighbours too :heheheh:

PPC, your heart shaped tanzy is just beautiful. I've never seen one before and it's such a beautiful colour as well. Lucky you for being in the right place at the right time - I'm now a lot less beautiful colour of green!
M4G how is HH at the moment? My dachsie, Uli, is also unadorned as he used to bother the cats rather a lot!

and this:

22085.jpg

ex demo at £39, with definite colour change, not as vivid as yours but went pink in incandescent light. This was valued at over £900, not sure thats a true valuation though as it was from Stanleys who gems used a lot in those days.
Anyway, one of my friends liked this so much I gave her it :D

aha it was you who nabbed it i was chasing that for ages i even started a thread asking if anyone had seen it. lol

These are my best buys :)

All presents though none are for me
